Hey guys, I have a crazy situation. Please help me out.

While driving on the interstate going about 85mph, there is a cop car up ahead that has pulled a car over on the side of the hwy. So naturally I take me foot off the gas and tap the brake. but suddenly my front driver's side wheel locks up and tries to spin the car around. It like no other brakes activate except the front driver's side which completely locks up. I almost spin out and flip my truck...:shake_125 not good. I quickly take my foot off the brake and then try to press it again, this time my brake pedal locks up and wont even depress what-so-ever, I mean its stuck up, literally. I then react quickly and kick my tranny down into low gear to kill the engine speed cause I'd rather kill the tranny than kill me. Thank God the brake finally releases and I brake and pull over all without the cop even noticing me.

Also from then on, when I slam on it from a dead stop and reach say 70 mph and try to brake the brake pedal get stuck in the up position and won't depress. Other than trying to brake from high speed my truck brakes just fine....... PLEASE HELP

I have no abs lights on at all, so I think its a mechanical brake problem.. ie, bad accumulator ball, malfunctioning rear drums causing excessive braking to the front therefore locking up, etc?

Again please help

I'd suggest taking it to a good mechanic, maybe even a dealer. Sounds like a very serious problem that needs attention asap.

... sounds like your whole braking system is funky.. maybe the proportioning valve/ master cylinder is/are stuck.

Geez that sounds intense. Sounds like you handled the situation well, I probably would have been in a panic. Take it in ASAP just because with something that serious, it's really not safe to drive. Your life is more important.

Has there been any recent wrk done?
Sounds like either air in the lines or a colapsed brake hose.

X2 It sounds like a collapsed vacum line or bad check valve to the booster combined with other problems.

I went to firestone and they did a vaccum test/ brake inspection/abs code finder the whole deal. Only cost $15 bucks.... Anyway they say that I need a new brake booster. The tech explained that more than likely I have a small hole/leak somewhere in the booster and that during normal driving I really wont notice it at all, but when I reach high speeds and the engine creates an ass load of vaccum that any small hole or leak will easily become noticable... what you guys think?

Well I explained my problem to these guys awhile back where if I didn't hold my foot real heavy on the brake while shifting into park my truck would die with key in ignition and in on position. I was told it was likely a brake booster issue. I had some stuff tightened under the hood and it seemed to help a lot but it's still done it a few times. To me it kind of seems like your issue would be more than just the brake booster but with my lack of experience I really don't know. That's just my opinion i'm sure others will offer their knowledge.
