Would I have to get my 4.3L balanced again? want to make sure so I dont end up buying a part that will kill my engine.

Are you sure you don't mean Hyperuetectic Aluminum pistons?
no, no rebalancing. The balance occurs on the flexplate/flywheel & harmonic balancer

yea wasnt sure what was better at the time but I looked it up a bit later and found the hypers were better. So no rebalancing at all? what causes the engine to need rebalacing in the first place? thanks.

Here's how you balance an engine, and it's worth every penny 'cause it ain't that expensive.
First, you measure all the rods and pistons. The heaviest rods are brought down to the lightest rods weight. Same with the pistons. This is a static balance and is crucial to determing what weights attach to the crankshaft for dynamic balancing.
Dynamic balancing is done after rod/piston weights are determined. I like attaching everything I can to the crank for dynamic balance such as the flywheel/flexplate and harmonic balancer.
A good balance job should cost between $150-250. It is cheap insurance and cheap horsepower.

ok thanks, balancing wont need to be done right away because I have nothing to put the engine into yet, so most likely the whole engine will be done by this summer, maybe sooner. When we start to build it ill post pictures and some info on what I did at each step. This way it helps you guys out and gives me proof that I did work in auto class :D .

Balanced again? When did you balance it the first time? If you balanced it during this rebuild but haven't run it yet you should rebalance now that you have bought different pistons. If you don't you will have wasted your time and money on the previous balance work. If the first balance was during some other rebuild you wouldn't have to "rebalance" during this rebuild. However as Sparky said above, its cheap insurance. If you do, the engine will run smoother, rev higher and last longer.
