Here is a bit of info about the MC Racing P1SC I5 kit.
The truck is a 2004 GMC Canyon Z71 4X4 with the 3.5L I5. So far we've gotten several drivers and several days of beating on it. Everyone comes back with a big grin. The truck seems very happy as well. Today there was a need for transporting a 6.0L engine, so it was done in the Canyon. The driver came back with a report of no gear hunting anymore, and plenty of left over power.

During the prototyping, brackets and MAF plate were developed using CAD from GM. This ensures that the belt is lined up correctly and the sensor fits as tight as possible. ATI supplied technical drawings to use in the CAD as well. We all hate it when hole don't line up, by getting design data from the sources everything attaches as it should. I'm sure many of you have purchased parts that just wouldn't fit like the stock ones. We've gone way past what most shops are even able to do, to ensure everything fits right.
The tubing is mandrel bends, we plan on sourcing continuous cnc bent piping. All brackets will be CNC'd as well. Polishing, powder coating, ect. are always options at MC Racing, but will add to lead time and pricing.
Installing the bracket requires removing the belt, PS pump, tensioner, and PS pump bracket. The PS pump bracket is replaced the the tensioner and pump relocated on the new bracket, as well as two new idlers. The PS pump's lines get extended too. Once the bracket is secure, install the tensioner, two new pulleys, and then blower. The blower slides into the hole between the bracket, exhaust manifold, and fender. Once in its pocket you rotate it into the bracket. The pulley goes on the blower after mounted to the bracket. The I/C replaces the vertical bar(cut off), and requires one hole through the rad support, bending one tab, and cutting off the center/lower grill support. The feed to the I/C come off the volute of the blower which points downward. It travels under the rad support and behind the bumper to the I/C. The engine feed can be clearly seen in the linked pics. It travels through the rad support around the bracket to the TB. The inlet to the blower lies under the engine feed tube. With the filter being behind the headlamp as the stock box was. The bypass valve dumps behind the bumper into a filter.
I missed the injector swap, but the intake manifold needed removed. The injetors used will require electrical adaptors, but nothing mechanical was changed. I was told that these adaptors are already on the market so no issues there.
I'm sure there is more to the install, but not much. I just wanted to offer an idea of how straight foward this kit is to install. The injectors might be more work than the actual blower bracket. Several days went just to making sure that we chose the best methods. After all, no one wants to have a belt shreader. Have to remove parts to do simple maintance like belt changes or oil changes. Have a poorly thought out kit that leads to poor running, rattles, premature failure of other systems. We tried to aviod every downfall possible and still keep the system easy to install, very strong, and easy to own.
Original plans were to offer the kit in a modular sort of form. With a basic non-I/C version and working to all the way to I/C'd with everything needed and/or installed. It seems that a non-I/C'd package would be like asking for failure as ATI's largest pulley is offering the current 7psi. We will be testing a few suggestions from ATI to reduce boost on this pulley. But if boost remains at 7psi, a lower priced and powered(non-I/C) kit may not happen. We will be as flexible as responsibly possible, but know one wants a truck hurt in the process.

Next week we will be going over the truck and seeing if any last minute changes need made. If all checks out then I'll be making a final set of CNC brackets, Matt will make a final tubing set. Once we can come up with quotes for production pricing, we will be able to figure out kit pricing.

Got me thinking that I need to sell my S-10 soon.:eek:

Nice. I'm surprised about the torque though. I sorta expected more. Still a good improvement.

If we can get max boost down for a non inter cooled kit, then speeding the blower up to get back to 7psi will make for gains in the low and mid ranges. ATI shared a few tricks to try, we'll see how it goes with that.

X2 on the torque, hopefully some tweaking will bring that up. I would imagine there's tonnes of potential with that headunit and an intercooler though. nice looking kit!
