ok so i have an 89 S15 long bed.. my dad knows this guy who has the same body style long bed S10 and he wants to get rid of it. it is straight and rust free. my truck i have rust on the bottom of my door, and my bed isnt straight. so my dad was thinking he would buy it and give me the door and bed and anything i need for a parts truck. now i know this sounds stupid and i know gmc and chevy trucks are the same. but i just want to make sure the doors and all would line up fit all that. i know it should but i just want to double check that it would line up completely. and then in the case he buys it once i take that off there will be a 1st gen longbed s10, fully gutted and has a roll cage for sale.

Yes, they'll fit.. but why not just get that truck & swap whatever you plan on keeping from your truck over to the rust-free truck?

I would think it would work.
but I would wait for more responses before you do it. I could be wrong.
all of the body parts from 82-93 are the same thing. chevy or gmc.

well because it would be alot of work. the truck is completely gutted. no engine, no interior, nothing. and my truck is rust free other than on the bottom of my door. and the bed wont be hard at all.
i thought it should fit but just wanted to make sure. thanks.

Makes sense.. & again, it'll all fit. Only thing different between GMCs & Chevys were the grilles & I believe the different years had minor changes to the radiator support.

I have gone thru several doors on my passenger side and only one need to be F'ed with so you should be fine. But........
You may have one problem with the doors. They are non adjustable hinges (stupid) so the factory "tweaked" them by lifting or pushing down on the door to bend the hinges. The aftermarket adjustable hinges are pricey and a PITA to install. Hopefuly you won't need to adjust the doors but if you do take pics of what is out and I can point you in the right direction as to how to fix them.

No problems like said. I would go ahead and put in new door pins too. Those are notorious for getting worn and causing the door sag.

what do new door pins usually run?

around $10 per side if I remember right at say autozone or advance. They will have them over in the help section, I can't find them on autozones website to confirm a correct price.
