So we know GM has gotten rid of some of their more popular vehicles over the last few years, or getting ready to in the upcoming year. To name a few; S10, Sonoma, Blazer, Jimmy, Camaro, Firebird, Cavalier, Astro Van and Tracker. With the recent decine in sales, drop in stock values. Do you think the "American Revolution" is actually a good idea afer all? Colorado, Canyon, Trailblazer, Envoy & SSR Sales are at a low. They introduce a I5 instead of a V6. Please post your thoughts on GM's ideas over the last few years.

most people dont like things there not used to so a 5 cylinder will take a while before its starts to sell good. and thats if they dont have any problems with it. I also think that they made the colarado/canyon to big. they should have made it the same size as the s10 just totally new from the ground up. now this is just my opnion and I'm sure that most people one this site will agree but they need to put a v8 in the colarado maybe like the new engine from the corvette 427, 500 hp. small truck big motor oh yeah it will be an srt10 killer. but hey thats just my opnion.

For one they didn't even try to redesign the Camaro and Firebird to compete on the market. That's why the mustang was out selling it.Look at how many times from 93 to 02 the Mustang was redesigned compared to the Camaro.Yeah they put the best smallblock ever made in it in 98 but they didn't even try to update the cars platform that was getting very dated. Now the S10 that was a solid seller way far better than the Ranger. Why stop a truck that has been very good to you and has a very large loyal following. They should have updated the S10 and designed a 4.3 after the LS1 engine platform and made the I5 and I4 options not the only options. The SSR is to big to heavy and way to costly to sell on a large basis or even get rid of.So they are gonna put in a LS2 and and try and save face.I don't think it will be enough because it's still to heavy and still costs to much. Now to the SS Silverado.Yes a great truck that should have been offered as a sport version of the Silverado not carry the SS badge. It should have been offered as a regular cab with a 6 speed and engine with the HO 6.0 vortec and a higher option with a supercharged or turboed 6.0 vortec. The AWD could stay because that makes traction not a problem and only helps it not hurt it.And for the 06 model to come it should get the estimated 500hp LS7 that the ZO6 is to get. Then the SRT10 would be the 2nd fastest production fullsize truck.I don't think the Colorado should be no more I just think it should not have replaced the S10.Make a mid size truck and sell it with a LS1 based 4.3 as the smallest option and a 4.8 or 5.3 as a V8 option. Then it would sell better than it is and get more respect.I won't comment on the replacing the cavalier because I like the Cobalt and think it is a great car.And im gonna own a supercharged Cobalt SS here real soon.Itr is one of the few good decisions I think GM has made. But it could be better. In conclusion I hope GM sells keep tumbling and start to drop very hard.Maybe then they will see or maybe even listen to what the public wants not what they think we want.Until they do we will continue to see crappy mistakes made.

chevy has really screwed up the last few years. even the ss truck was a disappointment, who makes an ext cab hot truck. what a pos you can't even compete with any other factory street truck. if i didn't love the body style of gmc/chevy i would purchase another brand vehicle. i hate myself for saying that but chevy needs to step up, not keep going backwards!!!!!!

I am in total agreement with everyone on this!!!!! GM shouldn't have gotten rid of the Camaro/Firebird, S10/Sonoma/Blazer/Jimmy, etc... Like everyone has said, GM should have stepped up and redesigned those vehicles instead of stopping production on them. Their mistake, our loss!!!!!

as we have seen with their new line saleing about the same if not less than their old line, I really thinck GM needs to take a good look at their marketing and engineering department not their designs. Who want's to buy a car or truck you have to have the comp reflashed to to get any real power out of, that leans, has a crap turning radius, you either have to pay an extra 100bux for an interfase to replase the stock radio or who wants a truck that the 3rd door rattles right off the show room floor. It was things like this than caused sales to slip not to mention only doing one magor design change every 10 years. ei..most of us here drive trucks right!!! what did we want? what did gm give us? personaly i would have been fine with a more powerfull engine, a less defined body line, and a better looking front end. As for as supension i would have liked to see the front wheels moved forward a bit and the supension redesigned so I didn't have to use the whole parking lot to turn

as far as repeat buisness on new vehicles... It won't happen from me, bacause I drive an s-series and am a bit POed that instead of trying to compete with the dodge dakota sport they built a mini avalanch, changed the name to F%$ed-up kicker slang and droped in a i5 that has no *** due to the extra weight. If your going to replase something that has become an american standered in compact trucks replase it with something better.

I think it was a big mistake dropping the popular line and not replacing them with something that can compete in the market. People don't like change, especially me, and it will take some time for the models to take hold. GM does need to address the performance cars. They have nothing out there right now except the vette and ssr that is even close to the competition.

I'm kinda glad they got rid of the S-10s don't get me wrong I love mine but I was ready to see somthing new from them. As for the rest I don't really care but I will miss the camaros and ta's.

Gm had to get rid of the camaro/ta old platform(93-02)it wouldn't meet GOV crash test anymore.Atleast thats what i heard, but they didn't need to get rid of the car's.

they need another ST/TY or put a v8 in the colorado, atleast a 4.8.The SS trailblazer is going to be nice but way out of my price range.

GM has noting to go against the new mustang, not at $25g's!But hey ford has f'd up to with the lightning!

Now D/C is got it going a hemi powered what ever you want!lol

Gm had to get rid of the camaro/ta old platform(93-02)it wouldn't meet GOV crash test anymore.Atleast thats what i heard, but they didn't need to get rid of the car's.Exactly why they should hav redesigned it not drop it.They have made a huge uproar amongst the Fbody crowd and S10 crowd. These 2 vehicles had one of the largest followings in the industry. And all have about turn their backs on GM and there new vehicles.Once sales continue to drop they will regret focking up so bad.And I hope it hits them hard in the wallet.I agree Dodge seems to be on the ball no matter what your opinion of the company is.They give the public what they want in any vehilce they want.Hell what don't have a Hemi in now a days. The Hemi makes around 340hp and is a all around good engine. My hats off to Dodge and even Ford for giving the mustang crowd what they want.

ditch the old designs not the badges.

look at the f-series truck. how long has been around. If ford up and changed the the badgeing they wouldn't sell. It would be an unknown in the car world. So they kept the name and redesigned the truck to improve the name. GM just ditches their whole line when sales slip, throw a new body on a old chassis and calls it improved.
