I listened to the entire uncut tape of the 911 call. I heard a couple of mistakes on Joe's part(armchair quarterbacks are always the best), but felt his adrenaline level was probably blocking clear perception. He went out of his house to confront them(which is what I would've done), they came back at him and turned to run when they saw his shotgun. Perhaps Joe had already started his pull when they turned away and that's how he hit them in the back. I say that if he hadn't killed them, he would have dealt with them again in the future because that kind of trash would have returned for revenge. So he was protecting his life. He deserves high praise for protecting his neighbor's property! Who else would have done it?
I think Joe Horn is a hero. I think too many Americans are willing to sit idly by and let come what may. I, on the otherhand, side with Joe; they were criminals committing a planned act against another human being and had to be stopped. If you've ever been robbed, you know it is a personal act against you... I've been robbed and I am still mad about it today, 10 years later.
Some say that no one was home... well, what if someone WAS home. What if... it was a 10 year old girl, home sick from school that day and they raped her? There would still be idiots saying it still wouldn't be warranted. I don't ever want to kill another human being, but I will if I feel my life is in danger. I think Joe felt that way amid the other feelings he had that day which culminated into a trigger pull. I believe I would have done the same.
Liberals, bleeding hearts and societal refuge are rarely the target of violent crime and just do not comprehend the far reaching emotional scarring from these acts. Some people can not simply forgive the criminal for committing an offensive act against them. I being one. I would react harshly today if the garbage that robbed me was caught. I want justice and I want it served! Have you ever met a liberal cop? No, because they see what the dregs of society are capable of perpetrating every day.
In closing... Think real hard people, America, our society is NOT better off today than it was, say in the 1950's. We are not safer in our homes, we are not safer walking down the streets. How many leave their doors unlocked at night as they did 50 years ago? How many go into a gas station 50' from their car without locking the door as we all did 20 years ago? When did the criminal start getting more rights than the victim? We must raise our voices, we must put an end to apathy towards evil(and it is evil) in its many forms. Do something, don't sit on your ass and wait for it to happen, make it happen! Joe Horn did... and he is a HERO!!!
