Well this weekend me and my wife went to the GM dealer about our Cobalt SS.Well it still isn't here and they are giving me a run around when it might be here.So today me and my wife went to different dealers looking around. And we drove quite a few cars. And here is one of the potential purchases. She drove it and she has almost fell in love with the car.It might not be this one but it might be a SRT4 either way.And let me be the first to say that this car is FAST!!It is just totally different than a regular Neon is.The ride the feel everything. So we might be driving a Dodge in the near future. We have took it home over night to get a feel for it.It's a used 04 but with real low miles. So am I crazy if I let her get it lol.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=432&stc=1

Once you've gone to the dark side, consume you it will!!!!

Next would be a ranger and mustang in the corral it will. Tempting the darkside can be, lure you it will of big promises it will never keep until it gets the Fbody ( Force ) out of you, then forever you will drift into no mans land!!

HAHAHA...and I thought I was obssesed with Star Wars..."Hokey Religions and ancient practices are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid"..I have a buddy at work who has one and i must say it is a fast car...but...i dread to think of betraying my beloved GM products!

My wife would like to shoot me at times. I've seen every episode of Star Wars more times then she cares to tell anyone and quote them quite often. Even do it at work when I want to be sarcastical, but not so blunt and star wars helps.

Remember Max, "A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most Chevrolet mind."

Oh but master Jedi as nice and as fast as this SRT4 is it is not even close to my Fbody.I shall forever be loyal to the Fbody. And it's my storm trooper of a wife that's wanting it.It would be nice to have a domestic compact to kick the crap out of all the import compacts.I would almost bet this car is a mid 13 second car as is.I don't know I would really like her to get it but im still leaning toward the Cobalt SS.It won't be as fast but I bet with a few mods it could be close. We are going back to the dealer tomorrow and tell him if he can't get the Cobalt SS soon we are going to buy a SRT4.If she doesn't decide to buy this one instead. We also test drove a Subaru WRX that was faster than this SRT4 we are driving right now.It is a close second to the SRT4 but she wasn't to impressed with the color. We are going looking again at a few others tomorrow after we put some pressure on the GM dealer.

I drove an SRT4 when I was car shopping. It's a decent car but I liked the feel of the SI better. The Neon (remember, it still is a Neon!) is a bit faster but my experiences with ANY Chrysler have been quite negative (parents owning 2 of them throughout the years). I opted for the SI. I'm not sure the ETA (or maybe its out already?) but the Saturn Ion Redline looks promising also. I liked the Mazda 3 (similar price) and the Mazda 6 (very nice but more expensive). Just my $.02

Ok we have been test driving our *** off today. We went to about 20 different car lots to look for her a car.We did find a red SS Cobalt and a Black SS Cobalt but both have been sold and he is going to get some more in next monday or tuesday.I hate to say it but the SS Cobalt is noticeably slower than the WRX and SRT4's we have test drove today. The Cobalt is a whole lot better car than the Cavalier is and it has a great amount of get up and go.But it just doesn't come close to the SRT4 or near the WRX.I really wanna stay GM loyal and we might still once they get some more in next week. But she is really loving the WRX and SRT4.I am so tired we have drove so many cars today and listen to so much salesman bull **** lol.We got to drive the SS Cobalt that one of the salesman owned. He let us because he wants a sell more than anything but it was cool of him to let us drive it.It is a real nice car that has a real strong engine with a great power curve. It is gonna sell like hot cakes im sure of that. And it handles as good as the others in it's line up and I think a little better than the SRT4 but not the WRX in my opinion. Here are some of the cars we drove today that might be her next car.I will say this the WRX STI's we drove are REAL fast and handle superb. They were hands down the best performing of all of them and no traction problem via the awd.Oh well it's her decision and she will get what ever she wants lol.And another thing I noticed is they sure do make a lot of blue WRX's.I bet over 75% were blue of some degree or shade lol.Anyway here are some pics we took of some of the casr we drove.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=435&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=436&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=447&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=440&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=446&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=442&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=444&stc=1

If you are liking the WRX, you may want to test drive a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Very similar to the WRX, but they handle a little better, and have a little bit faster acceleration. Just my $0.02.

The srt4 out handles a wrx,but not a sti.The sti is a whole different car.the evo is even with the sti or maybe just a tic faster but you have to keep the rpm up at 5g all the time.theres just more left(boost) in the sti than the evo.

Maximus have you looked at an audi S4 yet,i was looking at them on autotrader a while back and found an 03 for 15g,300hp all wheel drive i think.

never mind,to many miles on them!

Believe me we have looked at about every turboed and supercharged car there is out there. We even looked at the supercharged MonteCarlo and Comp G but she didn't want a larger car.I actually liked the comp G pretty good.It was a real nice roomy car with plenty of power and handling. No matter what it is she has done said it would be a forced induction car.God I love my wife lmao. But the only 3 she is considering buying is the Cobalt SS,WRX,and SRT4.As much as I can give my opinion on the matter it still comes down to what she thinks she will like.To be honest I hope she settles on a WRX STI.I think it looks good is super fast and handles great. We are gonna go up jokers way in Lexington this weekend to look around at some more cars and see what kind of deals we can get there.Lexington is usually cheaper than the car dealers around here because they have more competition to try and get peoples business.Besides we called a dealership there and they have some SS Cobalts on there lot for sale. The dealers here have plenty of Cobalts but there just the plain 4 door models.I say one thing I will be glad when she does pick something because im tired of running all over the country. The best part is actually driving the cars though lol.But she needs to make up her mind.

Out of all the vehicles we drove the WRX STI stock could probably hang with my TA.And I would say that it wouldn't take much for it to beat me with a little money invested in it.I know it could beat me out of the hole easily with the awd.Ive already been looking at the mods availablefor all three. The Cobalt really doesn't have anything since it's so new.But I bet it won't take long for the aftermarket to start putting some stuff out for it.There is a crap load of stuff for the WRX and SRT4 available. We also checked in to the 3 stage kits available from the dealer.Stage one makes 240hp/260tq.Stage 2 will make 265hp/280tq and in high octane gas mode will make 280hp/300tq.And the mac daddy of them stage 3 will make 310hp/325tq and in high octane gas mode it will make 355hp/365tq.Now that is some power out of a little four banger.Of course they are not cheap upgrades but compared to other bolt on power adders the stage kits are the best bang for the buck available. The WRX sti is the highest priced out of the cars even used it's still higher than a new SRT4 or SS Cobalt. That might be a big part of the final decision. She thinks the Cobalt SS is the better looking one out of the 3 but I think the SRT4 is the best looking one.It is kinda cool shopping for a car with your wife and horsepower is the biggest factor in a decision on which one to get.Just wait till I get my hands on what ever she buys lol.

hummm........... Have you looked at the VWs yet....
They are well worth a look and well worth the money. Even with the bugs you can get a gofast model that will put most sports cars to shame. In fact I thinck they have a limited number of golfs out this year that are actualy barely street leagle race cars. I thinck it's twin T-charged or something.
