So check out what my chick got me for Christmas. She bought me a Tapco SKS Fusion Stock.
So here is a pics as what it looks like now.
http://www.restlessadventurer.net/guns/yugo_sks/yugo_sks.jpg
And here is a pic of what it will look like when I get everything on like the stock, magazine and such.
http://www.tapco.com/show_image.aspx?id=c8e085f8-a99a-4ad9-ab5f-a179d8d925be
Now both of these pics are of a Yugo SKS and mine is a Chinese version so it doesn't have the blade bayonet... it has a spiked one. Other then that everything else is the same.

You're right...you have got a great woman! My wife hates guns. I keep all mine in my shop with my cars, the only one I keep in the house is my 9mm pistol (for security of coarse).

12-26-07, 01:47 AM
i couldnt imagine a life with a woman that hated guns. my gf loves guns...im gonna get her to shoot my shotgun tomorrow. i want her to shoot the shells i shoot just in case she ever needs to shoot it...i shoot 3 inch magnum triple ought buckshot and it knocks me back a lil bit...im 6'4 and 200lbs...shes 5'5 and 125lbs...how you think that will work out?
csl2006
12-26-07, 02:02 AM
pfft wimp and you said you'd be afraid to shoot my saw'd off 12gauge.
lucy_blue_93
12-26-07, 02:18 AM
cuz i know how my grandpas old 12 guage single 26 inch barrel kicked, and normally a shorter barrel kicks harder than a longer one. atleast the 2 i have...a mossberg 500 with a 18.5 inch barrel and pistol grip and a mossberg 500 with a 18 inch barrel and poly choke...both are legal...never owned one that wasnt...they kick ahrder than my 870 wingmaster with a 30 inch full choke.
csl2006
12-26-07, 02:21 AM
Before I sold my 500 mossberg it had the 18.5" barrel, full synthetic, car-15 6position stock w/pistol grip, pistol grip front. and it hardly kicked at all. maybe i shoot more than you do who knows my neighbor says about every week it sounds like ww3 outside
lucy_blue_93
12-26-07, 02:25 AM
my 500 with the poly choke has a wood stock on it which the top of it right off the top of the gun cuts down steep, which gives it a lil more recoil...which a varminter stock kicks less than a sporter stock. cant really compair the one with the pistol grip...cuz it dont really have a stock. its like shootin a 12 guage pistol. i just hated that single barrel. it didnt like me much either.

12gauges dont kick they're like a bb gun. Me and my cuz got to shoot a single shot .50bmg military issue a couple years back. his step dads good buddy who is a ffl dealer had one. took us out to the ranch and we were shooting tracers into haybails. didn't kick to bad for having a 600gr bullet.
lucy_blue_93
12-26-07, 02:33 AM
i know those dont kick. my grandpas buddy is the chief of the polise dept here and i got to shoot one...i want one.
csl2006
12-26-07, 02:44 AM
oh they kick. I wont dare to shoot one standing up. my .270 kicks enough how it is. with the bi-pods deployed it leaves scuff marks in the dirt and blows leaves and dirt out 10' from the barrel
lucy_blue_93
12-26-07, 03:15 AM
not the one i shot...didnt kick but a lil bit harder than my .308. i dont know what kind it was but the muzzle break on it was friggin great.

yeah i've got a pretty good chick... the doesn't really "love" guns but she doesn't hate them by no means. Just kind of neutral on the whole thing.
ps... she has been reading this thread.... lol she just called me from her work

Bull****!
why the hell was my arm a little sore after firing 5-6 shots this hunting season? I hunted with the 18" but test fired the 24"... I put about 8-10 shots and then my arm was hurtin'. I know the military has buffer springs in the rifles, Im not sure about the combat shotguns
btw here's what I've got in the cabinet
Mossberg 500a 18"
(2) Mossberg 500a 24" (brand new)
Ithica "Deerslayer" 20" barrel
Remmington 870 express 20" barrel
Winchester 190 22"
I only hunt with Remmington 2 3/4in or 3in shells
and slug only... yes even that squirrel that was playing in the leaves got a taste too... it was pissin me off... so I painted the tree

grow some muscle slacker haha. if you complain about shotguns kicking then go get a 20gauge.
lucy_blue_93
12-27-07, 01:31 AM
i love my 20 guage...but thats just cuz its a old ithica model 37...which means you can hold the trigger and every time you rack a shell into the chamber it shoots. its awesome. great for new years. but i shoot nuthin but 3 inch mags in my 12 guage. i went skeet shootin with 3 inch triple ought buck one time...my last time.
Slacker1357
12-27-07, 02:45 PM
thats about what our Ithica does as well and its a 12ga.. I have no problem with shotguns and their recoil... but to say a 12Ga. is like a bb gun is exageration.
firing an M-16 or an M-4 might be a good example... I've fired hundreds of rounds with them and had no problem, no pain. If I tried to fire a hundred rounds through my mossbergs or the Ithica... I will definately feel it later and the next day. you fire it enough and you'll wind up with a nice bruise in your shoulder...
I bet if you fire a rifle with no spring you may feel the same thing. I've heard how bad AK's can be... half the reason why the towel heads cant shoot 'em right.
lucy_blue_93
12-27-07, 02:46 PM
my ak isnt too bad. its worse than my sks, but not too bad.

pfft brandon its true. a .223 has vitrually no kick due to buffers and the springs (in a ar15 m4 m16 etc). shotguns have a push effect not a kick effect. rifles have a kick effect. Ak's or mak90's or the equialvant 7.62x39 sks or ak round kicks no more than a 20gauge shotgun. having my own firing range i may be immuned to more kick than others cause i put alot of lead down range each week with my guns or new toys my friends bring out. simple if you complain about a guns kick then dont own it or dont shoot it. Shooting a gun accuratly applies to the persons comfort level first. If you can shoot something your comfortable with especially the recoil your going to shoot better. same way with people and deer rifles. Alot have the tendancy to pull instead of squeeze the trigger or squint their eye before they rip a round down range because they know how much it kicks and their afraid of it. now put that person with a .223 or equalivant or your comfort gun and your going to shoot it better. thats my opion though. Thats why i got the bipods for the .270. yes its a single shot medium bull barrel and it kicks like a bastard so i installed some bipods and shoot the gun 90% of the time with them out to help the recoil buff down. Even in the deer stand I have a board across for the bipods to rest on.

All I have is a .22. It doesn't kick at all.
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 01:08 AM
now that is like shootin a bb gun. ive burned the barrel off of 3 10-22's by rippin through 30 rd clips like it was goin out of style.

All I have is two 10 round clips. I bought the gun for hunting jack rabbits when I lived in Ashfork, AZ.
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 02:31 AM
get soem 30's...theyre alot of fun. just for playin around. i have alot of 10-22 mags cuz my grandpa use to work on and deal guns and kept alot of them for people comin in not wantin to pay 20 to 30 buck for a mag.
csl2006
12-29-07, 02:53 AM
theres no way of melting down a 10/22 barrel especially shooting .22 rnds threw them. I have 4 30rnd, 3 25rnd and 2 10rnd clips and can rip them all off with my stainless steel barrel and it wont even have heat color formation on the barrel. by the time you reload your mags your barrel has cooled down enough to not warp or have stress cracks on it. if you can prove this i'd like to see it :) and if anything your bolt spring would heat up first and wear out and start to jam your rnds being fed in before the barrel would even think about burning up.
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 03:10 AM
ok...didnt say melted it. i had my grandpa loading the clips for me. when i got done if you put water on the barrel it would sizzle off. i realize that aint burnin it off, but it comes close to it.
csl2006
12-29-07, 03:18 AM
haha not tryin to be mean but your not gonna achieve warping your barrel. Even if you were trying to achieve it, it would be stupid and pointless to fork out 120$ for another barrel.
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 03:25 AM
didnt warp it. i got stopped before i could. it was very hot and did sizzle water when we poured it on there. so let me correct myself. i got the barrel of my 10-22 so hot it made water sizzle when i poured it on it. did it 3 times.
csl2006
12-29-07, 03:29 AM
well pfft thats nothing lol. but go out and try to melt it down i wanna see one if it can be possible haha
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 03:32 AM
i will...one day...whenever i get ready to buy a heavy stainless barrel for it again and put the synthetic stock on it...or one of my friends gets one...whichever happens first. one of my friends has a fully auto one. i still wanna know how to do that.
csl2006
12-29-07, 03:40 AM
its harder to make a 10/22 full auto. its not impossible but how the trigger pack is designed it makes it tough to do. Ak's and sks's are the easiest to make full auto but eh
lucy_blue_93
12-29-07, 03:43 AM
ooh...i got those too. both with 30rd clips too...but i dont feel like bein bubbas ***** when i go to jail for owning a class 3 weapon...not my style...thats exit only.
csl2006
12-29-07, 03:45 AM
sks's have a bad problem with the firing pins wearing down or the sear pin and it eventually goes to bursting rounds or sometimes full auto.
Slacker1357
12-29-07, 01:19 PM
I've heard people making there M-16's full auto pretty easily.
