ceiling console

dose any one know how to put a ceiling console in. i got one off ebay and i need to know how to wire the compess and the lights. any thoughts would be great

What year and vehicle is it going into? I put one in my 91 Blazer, the wiring's not too difficult. Let me know and I'll see if I can dig up the specifics for each of the wires. The map lights go to switched power, splice the dome light into your current dome light power, one wire needs to go to the VSS wire at the ECM (can't remember which color, but I can just go look under my dash to check), and one goes to the external temp sensor (you'll need to get one and a wiring pigtail to connect it). The compass is doesn't need any wiring other than power.

the guy i got it froim said it was out of a 98 blazer and im hopeing to put it in a 00 pick up. do you know of any wireing digrams i can find.

One more note, this writeup is for the consoles with 'ON/OFF' and 'US/MET' buttons. I have no idea how to wire the consoles with the 'MODE' function, as it is tied into the OBDII ECM.

I done this installation in a 2001 Xtreme. Now we gotta figure out how to get the temp/direction to work. The lights work perfect.
