Saturday night my wife and I were hit by a drunk driver.
We will be ok, I spent a day in the hosp.
My wife spent2 days.
I guess im not doing an LS1 swap on this truck like I planned
Use your seat belts, they saved our lives.
Stay safe and have a Happy New Year
Thanks

Sh*t!! That sux man. I am glad you are OK and used your belts. IC the airbags deployed.
I dont remember seeing your trucks pics posted here B4. Looked like a LS ZQ8 stepside? I feel your pain for your loss, but you and your wife are OK and thats the 1st important issue. The 2nd issue at hand is the other driver. Probably no scratches on him.?. He needs to be punished. I hope you find another good s-series

Wow. That is very sad and unfortunate. Very glad to hear your wife and you will be okay though!! That is indeed the most important thing. Best wishes to you and your family and hope you heal up fast.
Glad you're both okay. How did a seatbelt save you? I've been in 7 different crashes in my life and never wore one... I'm still here. My dad was wearing his in an accident 3 years ago and he's still messed up from the seatbelt tearing muscle.
I had a drunk driver end up in my front yard last summer. I hate drunk drivers!! Just think... your life could have ended just because some asshole thought he was 'good' to drive.

C'mon Tom that's like saying cigarettes aren't bad for you just because ol' uncle Dick smoked 4 packs a day and lived to 93. There are a few instances where you would have been better off not wearing a seatbelt but they are far outnumbered by the ones you would have been better off wearing them.:D

damn, glad you and your wife are ok. cars and trucks can be replaced. you cant. thats the most important thing. i am one of those people who think seatbelts save lives. i mean it did in my case. i know for a fact if i didnt have been hurt or killed. i'm kinda small so i would have been thrown around or threw the window. everyone has their own thoughts on seat belts though.

I like wearing seat belts but when I had my wreck my buddy was with me and we were buckled up and they snapped at the buckle and my buddy cracked the windshield with his head and I slammed my head on the windshield but not as hard becaue of the steering wheel. 3rd gen camaro buckels im iffy about I should of called GM and raised hell.

indeed that was 3yrs ago though so I cant really doing about it. I had a bruise across my chest from the seatbelt partially working then in the peak of the energy exchange it snapped the buckle. I thought my buddy was dead at first. 60mph to a dead stop seat belts breaking im glad we only had concusions and whip lash.

Glad you and your wife are alright. Looking at those images, looks like the little truck gave everything it could to keep you two as safe as possible.
Again, just glad you two made it out relatively un-damaged.

Damn, Glad you are ok, especially by the pics, you are damn lucky to be stading on both your feet. It took less damage to kill my buddy in his 1st gen, wow.
I hope you make a damn fine example out of the loser drunk.

Hopefully he doesnt live in Illinois, for some reason in this ****ed state drunks are allowed to get 11 DUI's before the courts start to discipline.

there was a dude last year maybe 2 years ago in geneva/st charles area that was in his ferrari, drunk as a skunk, killed a mom and her child , he had 11 convictions yet still had a valid liscense.
He is out on bail now I think.
It makes me sick that this **** happens in this world. It just goes to show you cant trust anyone in this country that is in the posistion to keep civilians safe.
They are concerned with making new laws rather then enforcing the laws that are on the books now.
If my wife and kids were killed by a drunk, id get my hands on the drunk and pump everclear into his bloodstream.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. People that drink and drive should really think about what they are doing. When I was big in to drinking I use to live blocks from the watering hole. I mean I know a lot of us out there has got in a car when they shouldn't and drove. Lucky made it and never hurt anyone. Then between AA and my parents bring up old memorys of family it kinda hit a spot where now I'm usually a DD for my friends or the one they call in the middle of the night if they need a ride. I lost my aunt, uncle, and my cousin to a drunk driver the lady is still alive with no injurys and she is trying to sue the bar that let her leave. Here is a link to a site my family made for them.

Hi all,
Just a quick update, as tommorow is 5 months after the wreck.
I am back to work, some days are better than others. I still have back and neck pain, but I passed the phiscal to return to full duty.
My wife still has pain and numbness in her legs but time will heal this.
The S-10 went to heaven, I hope some of his parts helped keep other trucks on the road.
I could not find an S-10 like mine but I did find a nice 94 Z-28.
As for the Drunk Driver, his blood was .253 and .258.
Charges are still pending due to as snafu by the troopers.
Warrents should be out for his arrest mid june.
Thanks for all the kind words and prayers.
There will be another S-10 in my life, maybe next year.
