2003 Xtreme Air dam (880 bulb) replacement

Here's the deal,

I have an 03 xtreme and the air dam bulbs are 880 bulbs (27-29watts), it appears 893 (37.5watts) silverstars will work, actually i know they will i replaced a blown 880 with some cheapo 893's from the zone, but i'd like to get 50-55w replacements for the fogs. Has anybody used a 50-55w 880 or 893 bulb for the fogs and not melted anything or blown the bulb within a year? I only ask because heat, melting the bulb socket and the reliability of these aftermarket companies varies. If it matters, whenever the truck is on, the fogs are on. I don't want to have to hack the harness, or the socket for the bulb, etc.

I'd like hyper whites or something with a slight blue tint since my truck is indigo blue
