Is the 4.5L engine something like when chevy made the 302 in the Camaro in 1969. Combining the 283 and 327 engines parts?
thanks

IDK...never heard of it as a production motor.
Ford 3.8 guys make them into a 4.3 FYI. Strange

I don't think so because the 302 was a 350 block with a 307 crank they were 4" bore with a 3.25" stroke. Big bore short stoke.
My point is there was only the 3.8L and the 4.3L in the 90* V6 family.
3.8L/229ci is 3.736" bore and 3.484" stroke
4.3L/262ci is 4" bore and 3.48" stroke
the only real diffence is bore I don't think the cranks are interchangeable and I know the heads/intakes are not. I looked into that when I was researching for my blower project. I believe the 3.8L is really a Buick gimmick but I'm not sure.

But I wonder if the crank from the old 229ci from the 70's would work in a 4.3L it's a 3.735" stroke it's prolly weak though..... hmmmm I gotta look into this. Prolly the wrong journal size.
