engine swap, same trans.

I bought a brand new 1998 vortex v-6 and put it in a 1991 sdime but put the old tranny back on it, it bolted right up, excepet the bell house was half moon stlye so i put the insp plate back on and it looks good but haven't finnished the truck yet to see if it works, also 1998 starter fit fine. any ideas if it will work, keep the new flywheel from the 98 vortex on it.

It will work.. '91 trans in a '91 truck. All the electrical connections are the same. You'll problably need to change out the sensors from the '98 engine to the '91 sensors.. unless you're already using the '91 manifold.. then yea.

thank U. I did put on a different manafold, a 4bbl edelbrock dual plane so I didn't have to worry about the sensers or the ecm also put a tch kit in the trans so it will lock in
