So I killed 2 more sticks of RAM. As some of you know I have a watercooled rig running over 4Ghz.
So far the count is 3 sticks of RAM. I first had 2 sticks of ****ty RAM and I killed on of them... no big deal... but next I bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231065 and they both died just the other day. Luckily I have several different computers!

Oh yeah I'm sending the RAM back tomorrow for the lifetime replacement thing. We'll see what happens.

The coolant never touches that actual parts. It just runs through a "water block".

can u put antifreeze for the coolant if it gets colder? oh holy diver is on
That's why I don't OC my system until all warranties are over. :D OC'ing voids warranties. :(

They have to prove you were overclocked.
I've only had to return a few things in the past several years due to pushing the limits. If you know what you are doing it's no big deal. Plus Newegg is really good about returns. Especially when the product is described as "overclockable".
What kinda voltage do you have the ram at?

Yep... That's why I got the ram from newegg. I'm sending it back in the mail today.
The RAM was running 4-4-4-12 timings @ 2.03V. The RAM has a operating voltage between 2.0V and 2.1V so I would running a low voltage on it if anything. The overclocked bus speed was 1009.4Mhz. I pushed it higher then this but it was very stable here and didn't get too hot.

Hmmmm, never ran that brand before. Kinda curious if there isn't an issue with the mobo that's eatin' your RAM.. Or a weak power supply.
Hard to tell from here, :) Hope you get it worked out.

How do I overclock my graphics card, what are the results Id notice and what are the repercussions? Worth it to a basic gamer?

Read alot before you go o'clocking your card.

Which graphics card?
Results vary
Repercussions would be increased heat, possible damage if done incorrectly.
Worth depends on the card and what you are trying to achieve.

It's a very good brand for overclocking.... I'm leaning towards an issue with the Mobo but I don't know. The power supply is a fairly nice 600W.

My vid card is a ATI Radeon X700 AGP 256DDR
425MHz core clock
432MHz memory clock
Ive read into itbut no instructions yet. Id add another fan if I did it. I want to overclock the CPU processor or get a bigger one. Its a P4 1.7 that states its running at 1.69. Biggest I think my mobo will do is a 2.0 or maybe a 2.4

This tool is VERY handy when overclocking ATI cards...
http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/
When I built my system I went all out on everything with the exception of the video card... lol... Yeah of all things... So I used this tool to overclock an ATI Radeon X700 Super... I guess it's probably the same as yours only it is a 512mb DDR2. It was/is a good card buy it gets angry with me playing Call of Duty 4 at 1680x1350 resolution. TIME FOR AN UPGRADE!!
Anybody want a video card?

i know nothing about computers, basically just thread whoring, but a question for all you electronic junkies...
obviously upgrading a video card upgrades your quality and resolution of the picture. but if you upgrade a card, what will be taxed in the rest of the system? will it eat up some of my RAM space or my hard drive space??
sorry for the very elemetary question, but curiosity is getting to me.

Post the specs of your system and what you want to do with it. Then I can better suggest a video card. Hell I'm going to sell mine most likely.

well currently i have an old pos that has like a 40 gb hard drive. it works, but thats it. my friend is looking at building me something cool, but i was just wondering....
Lee
Lee... it probably has a 'built-in' video card which actually borrows system memory. In almost all cases, adding a nice video card will improve your performance. In cheaper or built-in video cards, the CPU actually has to do some calculations, while most of the newer video cards handle 100% of the video processing. Now, if you don't play any taxing games and your system seems to run at a fair speed to you, buying a new video card may not seem like a good value.

dude,
sphincter monkey works if you are only on one program at a time, while its a vast improvement, it still leaves some some things to be desired. perhaps if you send Red and Blue over here, the pair will be quicker.
actually, i just need to get a lil more saved up, and then i'll have a new computer.
