so i was almost half way home. and since i got my truck back its been smoking blue really bad. and you could just smell the anti freeze. and my battery is weak and i had to get jumped well anyway i'm half way home and im on the phone iwthmy dad. he says check the temp i look at it and it shot the whole way up. and i smelled burning. i pull over. let it cool down. he said try to get it home and the battery wouldnt start. so my dad came and put more coolant in and i got it home. so guess what happened.
the f*en head gasket went.
easy fix if you shut it off early enough

so it was the head gasket, which explained alot, and the guy who worked on it said there was to much water in the oil for him to feel comfortable fixing the old motor. so for 200 i got a new motor well it had 50.000 miles on it. so i got the guy to swap engines. and i finally got it back tonight. it feels so good to drive again after a month. and it drives better than ever.

what year engine did you get for $200? did that include labor, too? I assume it's a 4.3L?

yeah its only got 50, 000 on it and i got a couple other parts as well...
now i dont have to rely on anyone to take me to wokr. its running better than the other one did and i have heat. only thing is i now have a cracked radiator hose, but thats an easy fix. so now i have more money to lower it more...

$200 seems kinda....low...to me..
just my 2 cents..
Did ya get to see your old motor? or the new one b4 the guy put it in? was it done by a shop or a family friend or something?
just seems a lil fishy to me..either way, $200 aint bad, even if it was even just a full on head gasket set replacement

Heat and air are always good things to have at the appropriate times.:D

oh i paid the guy a couple hundred for labor. he got it done in one day. and he was a friend of my dads. and yeah i say the old motor. he was gunna try to fix that but he looked at it and said there was to much coolant in the oil? i think but he said it was pretty bad he dindt want to risk it not working. so he swapped the new one in over night. i still have to old motor at my dads i'm gunna take the sensors and some stuff off that i might need down the road.
