Hello Everyone.
i have an air horn (WOLO POWERHOUSE ... http://www.buyautotruckaccessories.com/product.cfm/cf-bin/pn.wolo-powerhouse-horn/ ) that i would like to put on my blazer but i am not exactly sure where it would look the best. My vehicle is a 1996 Blazer 4-door. the licence plate holder on the front has been removed after it was damaged on a snow pile in a parking lot  . i am thinking on putting it under the area the licence plate holder was on the bumper. it will be facing toward the passenger side. do you think it will be ok. i would like to go offroad but am not sure if the horn will be ok because it will be seen from the outside.
i really wanted to put it behind the grill but there is limited space there and i would need to fabricate some kind of mounting plate. i do not have the tools or resources to do that.
when it was on my previous car (1997 pontiac grand am) it was mounted underneith the trunk behind the rear passenger tire.
i wouldnt mind mounting it under the blazer, just not sure if it would get ripped off if i go in deep mud...
What do you think?

I honestly wouldn't either. It's a horrible idea.
The only place I can think of would be behind the front bumper or airdam somehow... but you already said you don't like that idea.
Just find something else to go offroad in, then you'll have lots of places to mount it!

roof rack. mount it to the roof rack. no holes in the roof and its still up there out of harms way.

I would put on the rad support center brace facing down.

You have all kinds of room behind the grille on the core support on a second gen. I have some just like it mounted behind the grille on my first gen and they a tight fit.

i tried that out but the way the horn is set up with the hole for the air and the mounting hole it sticks up too high and the hood will not close.

Yeah, there is room but there is now way to attach it, a mounting plate would need to be fabricated, i do not know where to sart when fabricating something like that though. i would not want to do something and have ir raddle around and such.

that would work except the air pump has a rubber hose and that would need to get to the inside of the vehicle somehow...

I made a bracket out of the plastic air deflector out of an old dime core support I had laying around. It was the plastic that in a 2.5 takes up the empty spot the smaller rad causes. I just cut it, drilled holes, and then used self tapping screws to screw it in. Took longer figuring out what to use than to make it and mount it. Mine also more wedged in than your would be so I can get away with plastic, on yours I'd use a piece of steel or thick tin.

A guy had 3 big horns under his 2dr Blazer and they were plenty loud. They were to the left of the driveshaft when viewing from the back...opposite of muffler

I have a different set of air horns but they wouldn't fit behind the grille or behind the airdam so I mounted them under the bed on the spare tire crossmember. These horns are so loud that you wouldn't know they were under the bed unless you looked.

Thanks for replying so quick everyone...
Does anyone else have pics of their set-up?
And how thick does the steel or tin need to be?

I welded a 90 degree bracket on the back of my hidden hitch and mounted my tank and compressor where the spare used to be. Its a Wolo kit.
