Which headers are better? More along the lines of Gibbson stainless steel vs Edelbrock ceramic coated. Ive been told Gibbson but the jury is still out. What do you all think??

Honestly, shorty headers are kinda' like condoms. You don't get much but you pay a lot for it.
I've yet to see anyone regret putting long tubes on. The hp difference alone (not to mention better sound) makes it well worth it.

Shortys only if you get them cheap. Otherwise the longer tubes ar overall more useful =)

Id go long tubes and if you want em to last, get the ceramic coated ones.

Here is the mod I was talking about to make them work Matt.http://s10planet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9676&highlight=headers+notch+arm
ok thanks, i'll probably just leave the stock manifolds on. I dont want to mess around with making long tubes fit. Headers are a big enough PITA to install already. No sense in making it more of a headache
The edlebrock headers are not shortys or full length and if your not Revving over 8000 rpms you dont need full length headers. Putting full length headers on a stock motor is just pissing in the wind. I have the edelbrock tes ceremic coating and they are 2 years old. They still look brand new. Just beware you have to install a floor shifter on automatics because the headers interfere with the stock shifter linkage.

On my '95 with column shifter there was no interference with stock linkage.

Edelbrock can suck my balls. They Y pipe don't come close to fitting (yes they are the correct part #) and there tech dept. is retarded. The dumb ****s asked me I I had a Body lift.......
How would a body lift make the Y pipe hit the trans?
Should of bought OBX from egay.

stock manifolds are good till 300hp i wouldn't go to headers anyways because of burning plug boots and taking forever to change a set of plugs.also,it's extra heat for you s/c guys.

I beleive the shift linkage interference only applies to the 1994 and older trucks. In 1994, they still had the older round Saginaw column. Even the 2nd Gen truck. In fact, the only 2nd Gen with the Saginaw column was the 1994 Truck. Later trucks got the revised square column and the linkage changed.
And yes Eric, the "Tech Support" at Summit is as useful as a bag of pretzels to a person stuck in the desert.

I think he was *****ing about the Edelbrock tech dept. I dunno I'm thinking Long tubes are the way to go, but a good deal might maje me compromise. The Edelbrocks would be the minimum I would like to do.
