Well, I don't own one right now, but I've owned THREE First Gens. . . '84 2.8 5-speed, '88 2.8 4x4 auto, and a '93 4.3 4x4 auto.


In fact, I've been looking into possibly getting another one to do a V8 conversion on (at which point, my '98 will become my daily driver!)

I have owned 3 first gens, as well. First a 92,then 91 and an 87. Now i only have one left, the 87, and its a wreck. A wreck, how you ask. Front end damage, I hit a tree b/c of icey roads. Now i own, well the bank does, a 2001 ext cab zq8 auto.

The V8 conversion is relatively easy on 1st gens if you need any help or have any questions just let me know.

First gens. . . First S-10 was an '84, then an '88, then a '93. Also owned a '92 Blazer.

Moving to the 2nd Gens, I had a '95, my current '98 and my wife's current '01 Blazer.

Can you guess that I like S-Series.

I have an 88 s15 with the gypsy trim. It has a freak color scheme that is suposed to be rare. It is white on top and red on bottom. The supossedly rare thing is that the red takes up the entire bottom. I heard they didnt do that with those colors and made the section under the trim white.

I also have a great looking original interior that is black and red. The seats and door panels remind you that you drive a truck (they all say truck).

I need to get some **** pics. After being with the planet for 1 1/2 you'd think I'd get some pics of my ride!

Hi all,

I am a new one on this and came across this so thought would let ya know that I have a 84 S-10 ex- cab Chevy Durango 4x4. Was wondering if any of you have heard of it. I have had it for 10 years now and doing a lot of work on it. It is a 5 speed 2.8. It started to make a grinding noise the other day so parked it. I have been trying to restore it. Have had all the glass replaced and the interior done to original. Have to do some work on the body as some rust has developed due to living on the beach of Ocean Shores, Washington. I just bought a used 327 engine with a TH 350 trans to put in it.

This is the New Girl, Here is a pitcure of my 84 S-10 Durango that I will be working on. As you can see needs a lot of work.

The body actually looks pretty good on it. Might be some surface rust under the fenderflares, and its only a matter of time before you get to buy new cab corners. Looks like a helluva good start though, tink is the 4wd expert around here, she knows whats up.

Thanks T Man, The cab on top had a light bar on it and I took the lights off as they where all rusted out and looked like ****, The bracket is what you see above the door. i willl check out Tink and see what she has to say about it. Have a good one.
