everytime i hit a hard bump my new tires rub or roll the top of my fender. im tempted just to grab the hammer and start beating but haven't yet.....i don't get it i had the same sized mud tires on there and they NEVER did this

any suggestions short of body lift?

You could remove the fender trim to squeak a little extra room out of it. Maybe turn the tbars a little more? is that what you did to get your front lift to begin with?

Is it only on one side? I wonder if you have an alignment problem or something? maybe another front end component that is worn out? b/c it seems a little strange that it's getting hit there. are there any scuffs on the face of the tire like that's the part that's rubbing, or does it really seem that the tread is hitting it?

I know this is starting to get extreme, but you could trim your fenders and add some flares. I doubt you want to do that, but I had to throw it out there.

Roll 'em old school style wit a baseball bat.

But even more of a question why do they rub with that muchgap between the tires and the wheel well.

yeah...im actually an alignment tech... but im a little stumped on this one.... ALL of my ball joints are new, i did crank the torsionbars (almost maxed out), and i aligned it right after i put those tires on.

because of the torsion crank, i have next to no caster. but i had to give that up to make sure camber was positive enough it wasn't going to eat the front tires alive on the insides.

i do have a little play in my idler arm... but every s-dime does lol!

it is mostly on the right but i do have a little on the left and you cant tell from the pic unless you look really close but you can see where its actually cutting into the very edge of the side wall

it only rubs when i turn and go threw a dip or a drive way or something that makes the front flex a little.... but now that the fenders are messed up it cuts the tires if i hit a dip going to fast (even strait ) now

that was the plan i just was hoping there might be a better idea....and a reason. i had knoby mudders on there the same size (31/10.50) and never had a problem.... why now with just a/t's on????

Different brands and designs are all a little different. Just like some X-large t-shirts fit good, some are too small, and some are too big.

But the little bears fit just right. Goldilocks

lol....yeah i may have too. although i think w/ my discount i may be able to pic up a moog about the same or cheaper. i'll let ya know though.

do you think thats the problem though??? im sitting at almost 0 camber and caster... if i realign it with the camber leaning in a little i might get some caster back too and maybe solve the problem. the issue is i think that the adjustment cams are pulled all the way out on both sides to compensate the torsion twist... (i knew it was just a band aid to begin w/ but really didn't expect this)

that price is negotiable.
im not really sure i just threw that out there. in all honesty, i was thinking it might be just the thread being more aggressive or the tire just being i little taller than the last ones. how old are the shocks? have you considered them?

i actually put brand new monroe zr2 shocks on after i lifted it cause i was bottoming out the factory ones....i just used a pipe and kinda beat everything back strait last night and tryed to push it up a little. seems to of helped, but i don't think its really a fix yet

Time for fender flares.....then you can run 33's and rub!

just an update incase anyone else has had this prob..... the tire ware just kept getting worse even though i rolled up the insides of the fenders so i started doing some thinking with some other alignment guys and i've pretty much figured it out.

when it was aligned, the head tech set caster and camber almost dead at 0 on both sides.... i was alright with it because it was too the max of adjustment and the only way i could keep the camber from wareing the insides of the tires was to crank both cams all the way out on both sides and end up at 0......well the way our short long arm suspention works, as the wheels hang down, the tops of the tires tend to fall in toward the truck. and then if you push them up they lean out a little. at stock height and alignment spec.s this keeps the tires as flat as possable on the ground as you corner and if you load or unload the rear. since i killed caster to achieve camber the tires dont push up and back in the fenders any more when i turn and or hit a bump, they just smack stait up into them. im going to go ahead and go about a .25 deg negative on both sides with camber and i might be able to get a deg or so of caster back. should work. with very little inside edge ware. i figure thats still better than slices of my side wall missing lol
