Anybody have any tricks up their sleeves to shut up a squeaky alternator seems to charge fine and is relatively new, just squeaky as hell. Im a little leery of using a spray lube as i dont want to create any problems, and i dont really feel like replacing it as it still works fine

Most of the time its the rear bearing going dry and causing the squeak. Nothing to do but exchange it or pull it apart and silicone spray the bearings.
Sure its not the belt?

yup positive its not he belt. Any way of doing it on the truck, the truck is on my lot and im not real keen on tearing it apart right now

Probably the bearing. The bearing could go out and seize up the alternator.

my truck squeaks when it rains or has alot of moisture out for some odd reason i replaced all my pullies and the belt and the altenator and it still does it. Dry tempatures it dont squeak who knows a couple other s10's do it here also.

Sure its not the tensioner or idler pulley making the noise? They are right next to the alt

my alt is a little noisy to. been that way since it was new. what i did to fix it was buy a S/C that made more noise. worked like a charm. cant hear it at all now.:D

I did the exact same thing with my grinding, leaky power steering pump! I highly recommend this fix :p

A new alternator is cheaper but, I'm sure it's not near as gratifying.:D
