I picked up an audio enhancers dual 12" downfire enclosure from www.pickupspecialties.com (http://www.pickupspecialties.com) for my ex-cab S-10. Now I'm anxious to get my subs and install everything. I'm thinking Alpine Type S or Type R dual 2 ohm subs.

Nice. My experience with bothe the S and R Alpines leans me towards getting more power and using the R's. The S.s I didnt think too highly of.
What amp are you running?
Specs on box say 1.30 cu/ft per sub.
TypeR = 500W RMS and up to 1.0 cu/ft
TypeS = 300W RMS and up to 1.5 cu/ft

So for that enclosure the S would be the best fit.
My expereinces in tha past was either they had a tiny enclosure, a enormous ported enclosure and/or underpowered them. So if you get the power right, those TypeS subs should fit right at home in that box.

The amp I'm using is an Alpine MRD-M605 600w mono. I'm leaning more toward type R's so that I still have the option of adding a little more power if I want to.

That's pretty cool. I didn't realize such a thing existed, haha. I'm wondering how that sounds compared to having two subs/enclosures pointed outward towards the sides of the truck...hm.
