updating hard drive driver?

ok so on my pc Im trying to keep all my drivers updated,so I was looking at device manager and seen my 80 gig hard drive driver is dated back 2001 I downloaded 2 versions on my driver?I extracted them so how do I update them?

Hard drives do not necessarily need an updated driver. Don't worry about it. The Windows generic works as well as any.

Honestly, I've never even heard of a hard drive having a driver other than maybe the basic one that's based inside the bios.
