Eck eck eck, all 2" lifts are pointless. If you actually wheel your ZR2, you are going to spend more money in repairs, than you would if you just purchased one of the 5" or 6" lifts.

I posted this link a few months back and made it sticky because it's the only companey that offers a good complete lift for s-10s more than 2". your going to pay for it though

Superlift is also an option, 6" for the ZR2

the superlift is a good lift, but a pain in ass to install in transaxel GMs. It's not a true bolt in lift and required allot of frame mods to get it to fit. I had allot of problems with exsesive flex in the transaxel drop plate with the superlift kits. I usaly have to weld up extra support. In the cases of the fullsize truck I've had to fab up a new one with 3/8 steel. So I quit useing their lifts on GMs and started useing fabtech and bds. I still use the superlifts on fords, jeeps and older strait axel GMs because i like their strait axel kits.

If fabtech made a lift for the s-series 4x4 I say get one of theirs, but I've only seen a prerunner kit offered by them.

Transaxle is when a vehicle is front wheel drive based.. while some GMs are all-wheel drive, they still depend on the rear as primary movement, because its connected through a transfer case.

Superlift does require some welding, but for the most part, is easier to put together than BDS, because they quite often are not 'direct copies', made to fit every truck.

The short assembly is technicaly called a front differntail, but the entire assembly is listed as a transaxel so i call them transaxels. it's not a strait axel it's not a true differntail. You can't engage the things after you get stuck half the time. it has to be engaged when you hit the trail to be sure it's working. There is nothing that will ever replase manuale locks for reliabilty.
you want to do the lift right get rid of it and put in a strait axel. it would cost around 2 grand to convert it if you use a new strange axel. You can get a used dana 60 and have it shortened for around 800 And you can't beat the reliabilty of manuale locks.
