I may not be doing the lift that i was hoping to do yet, but i would like to increase the load capacity for towing a trailer or hauling something in the bed. Would you recommend an add-a-leaf kit or a different set from somewhere? All suggestions or experiences welcome.
thanks!
An add-a-leaf would be easiest to put on, but I've found springs are pretty inexpensive at JCWhitney...

Does anyone know the load capacity of our trucks? in bed or with trailer? Mine is a 97 4x4 reg cab short bed.
I'm going to need enough capacity for hauling sheets of wood, so I'll also have to et an extenda hitch setup. I lost wood
friday night cause the top 4 sheets would not fit in all the way due to the rollbar, I even bent my tailgate in the middle, now it's worse than when i bought it. oh well, time for a new one.
Anyway, I ask about the normal load becuase I"ve been directed here, but dont know if it's worth it when i can just get add-a-leafs from JC witnay for much less:

Ive used them from JCW, they are very decent springs, held up my old drag car and an old cruise night car I had. GOt decent lift out of em too, more then I expected.

I used a stock set for my c-10 w/ add-a-leafs, the other set i used was the lifted leafs. They both work great. Its just how much you need is the question.
I had the lifted ones for rear tire clearance.
