pass lock problems

I am having problems with passlock on my 01 noma 4.3. I went thru a couple of posts on here about it, but none delt with an intermentant problem. I'll turn the ignition on, the security light flashes and wont start. It doesn't happen all of the time. Ill let the truck sit for 10 to 15 min, and it will start right up.

I listed this question on another s-series forum and the only reply i got was that there is a ground that runs under the dash that might be loose, but they didnt know where the ground is located. The posts here pointed to replacing the ignition switch, or disabling it using a resistor. Where do the wires for passlock start at in the column? What are the colors of the wires?
