i am in the process of paying a guy at work for his laptop with chilton on demand!!! i already have it and i love it!!! it is for 1983 to 2003 vehicles, not just s10's. i can play cds, dvds, and so fourth on it. it has hookups for a printer and 2 usb ports.
it has internet capabilities so i need to figure out how to get on the net from it.
and with the right programe you can use it for data aquisition and tunning

my frined is going to pay me some money so that he can put lt1 edit on it. would ls1 edit work on our trucks?
ls1 is kinda weird on GM 4.3s after 96. It's not the only prog out there though. tunercat works pretty good on our trucks and accel has a programe that's supposed to work well with our trucks.
deon't get me wrong it's a nice progrme for high performance comperterized FI V8s(like what max has) If you can get ls1 for free go for. You may be a tunner gienus and write a patch that will make it 100% stable.

Two big thumbs up for LS1 edit on a Fbody I love it.But two big question marks for LS1 edit on a S10??If you can get it for free I would jump on it.Yours would be in the primary years for LS1 edit to work.If your gonna have to pay I would maybe look in to the Tunercat edit. They offer more for the early year OBDII trucks so they might know a bit more on S10's than others do.

You can use LS1 or LT1 edit on your laptop as long as it has the required hard drive and memory.I bought a older laptop for cheap and had to add memory so I could use LS1 edit on my TA.I only use for my TA though.
