I'm a bit old school, and I used to back in the day, but can you run roller tip rockers on the 4.3 without any problems? I had to use molley tiped push rods, is this still the way it is, are has things changed?

I do know they are available for the 4.3, but I haven't heard of anybody running them. Anybody got any info on these?

A lot of us are running full roller rockers, I personally am using Comp Cams 1317-12. Their 1" polylocks will hit the valve covers, I used polylocks that are ¾ tall with no vlve cover clearance problems. You will also need a set of rocker studs Comp Cams 4554-12.

Screw in studs? I would have to have the heads machined for that wouldn't I?
I have a 98, sounds like too much work for now.May have to let the roller tip idea go for a while lol lol

Yes sir I was going to get a jammer, but I had to weigh the difference between a jammer or gettin our daughter a vehicle, I couldn't choose a jammer over her, so the jammer is going to have to wait for now.
But she is wanting an xtreme blazer, slammed with lambo doors and 20 inch wheels, lol lol now this is what she told me, some where along the line she has been doing her vehicle homework, or she's been talking to somebody.
So now I'm looking for her X-Blazer. lol lol

It would be best in your year to convert to the 2000-later heads. That way the conversion, while still in need of parts (specific rockers, studs, valve covers), is a bit more safely done.
One thing to also lookinto if you do want to update to the later heads, is find out about the EGR stuff. IDK much on that, but do know the earlier intakes have some extra parts attached that my 2003 intake doesnt. Not sure if the heads are effected. RAT maybe able to help on that one.
