Well I found a complete pickup minus the motor today for $500. Seems like a decent pickup. My plan right now is I wrecked my S10, need to get a new bed and sand it all down before it goes in for paint. I currently have a 2.2 and this new pickup had a 4.3 in it, however the guy took the motor out and never put one back in. My question is what all would it take to slip the motor out of mine and stick it into this 4.3 S10?

So far I know I would probably have to bring the motor mounts from my S10 which is a 97 to this one that is a 95. I would have to use my current tranny, and bring all the wiring from my S10 to the new one...anyone care to just like give a step by step on how to do this?

why would you want to do this? and there is no step by step to a motor swap. If you need that you probably shouldnt be undertaking the work

Ehh, im not really thinking about doing it anymore, I would sell my current pickup and just buy the thing and put a new V6 in the little bastard

Well, dont let a motor swap discorage you. I am no mechanic in any way shape or form and I successfully swapped a 2.5 to 4.3. I just scratched my head a bunch and was persistant. But if I already had a 4.3 s10 I wouldnt dare go through the work to put in the 2.2.

same here.. i would just find a 4.3L and stick in it.. i found one in the next town that i could pick up for free.. it had a spun bearing and only needed the crankshaft sanded down... nothign truely major..
