Found a Marine Manifold for a good deal.

Good find. A few around here should jump on it.

I'll predict that thing will get up to almost $400. Most e-bayers are tards and don't get that if you don't do the buy it now don't bid till the last 15 minutes.

Snipe.......... or like I posted else where

I'd wait till the last minute to bid on it. Decide before hand what you are REALLY wiling to pay for it. Then when there is 1-2 minutes left you put that Max amount in and hit bid. And see where it falls. Maybe you'll get lucky and no one else is going for it and you get it cheaper than your max bid. Maybe your less lucky and you hit your max bid, but still get it for a price you were willing. Maybe you aren't lucky and somone else tried sniping but at a higher amount and you don't get it. Then, it wasn't in your price range so don't matter.

Anyways, since it was posted here, probably going to have a few snipers at the end. But who knows, maybe your willing to spend more than the others.

This is kinda how I got my good deal on one, but I was kinda greedy and didn't post the link to the site here (sorry, didn't want competition, I know selfish, but I got a good deal :D)

'Scuse the question, but what's so special about the marine manifold?

its got real injectors. so you can go bigger if needed.

It fit's '96 and up vortec 4.3's. It also has a different injector setup that allows you to upgrade. Where the stock setup is proprietary.
Six 19# injectors are only capable of makeing so much hp. If you can get bigger injectors in there to properly fuel it, you have the potential to make some power.

It flows a little better, too.. doesn't it?

Dogsofjune

Air? Bout the same as stock, which actually has a decent runner length.

Hammer Head
05-23-08, 11:55 PM
hmm for some reason I thought the marine manifolds flowed a little better (CFM-wise) than a 'street' manifold.. maybe it's the upgradeable injectors.

Way IC it....there is no internal airflow restrictions. You can add bigger injectors and there is no pressure flex from high-boost applications.

Dogsofjune

With boosted applications, runner length is a moot point.

u see jason, to put it in simple terms you and i can explain....
imagine a toilet.. the toilet is a factory injector. your turd will fit down it, but my BIG turd wont.
so you go crap in a 3 foot wide sewer pipe. the sewer pipe is the marine injector setup. your turd obviously fits, but now, mine easily fits too! and if, for some reason, i have a turd so large that it wont fit in the sewer pipe, i can upgrade to a 4 foot sewer pipe!

Are these a plug-n-play, or is there some harness work needed?

Chrisvich

harness work is needed. Al over at www.wynjammer.com (http://www.wynjammer.com) is working on a plug and play system now

That's a pic of Rentedmule's truck. Im running 6psi in my Blazer. I'll be swapping the charger over to a 2dr Jimmy soon. I believe Tyson (rentedmule) is running 8psi with a Powerdyne w/FMU and a progressive water/meth injection system.

this is the ticket if you got a Centrifigal S/C. I wanna see somebody boost the hell outta one of these.

rentedmule

Scott's got the details right on the sonoma.

I wish my centrifugal S/C was capable of boosting the hell out of something without blowing up :(

Seems like a regular problem with the Centri's offered for our trucks. Too bad nobody other than Mach did an ATI for the Dimes that is a nice unit.

There's a few guy's that run boost that high with turbo's on other sites

The best I've heard from a centrifugal blower on a 4.3 is 14 psi from 94SS's vortech but he's running a bigger headunit. I think I remember reading in his sig that he's making 400+ ft/lbs at the wheels on a built motor - he lurks here so maybe he'll chime in. Sy/ty guys easily make 500+ hp on that kind of boost.

I'm making ~225 rwhp @ 8 psi - my truck is basically stock other than the S/C and I'm not convinced that the tune is great. D-Caf is making a bit more than that with a wynjammer @ 6 psi and I've seen a few guys making ~240 rwhp with similar setups.

on my last motor i ran 14psi stock motor then it blew im holding boost with a custom made bonnet i made and sce head gaskets so they dont blow as soon as i put it on the dyno i will show the graphs
