This truck is one of buds from another forum, Adam (HectorM52 from SSF). It has an LT1 and T56 for the drivetrain. Up front he has ATS tall spindles, SPC upper and lower control arms, Hotchkis springs Edelbrock IAS shocks. The rear is drop springs , I think, bad94's DIY traction bars (http://www.s10planet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10936) and again Edelbrock IAS shocks.

He was at the Year One Experience and they let you take your car/ truck out on the track. Watching these vids it's amazing what these little tucks can to with some intelligent mods.

I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a S truck running 135+ on the back stretch of Road Atlanta. He has two other vids from that day up as well.

Was it the guy with the 7.5 rear?

I hope to go down for the Year One Ex. when my truck is drivable again. Think I'll go to the Skip Barber driving school first...lol

Thanks guys. It really was nice to see the fruits of all my hard work for the past few years.

And to be honest it was a really good way to gauge where the truck is - performance wise... I realized that the cooling is not completely worked out. And I realized that my steering system is verrry bad. Stock pump + stock gear = bad noises (which might have actually led people to believe that I had a supercharger) hee hee...

Anyway, about the only thing that was missed on my list of mods is the poly bushing set that's in every joint on my truck. It really is amazing what they'll do to tighten up your truck...

...I know because I've driven behind my buddy in his '86 and to watch the ass-end sway side to side is pretty crazy. And it's totally from the old rubber bushings in the rear.

Oh, and speaking of swaying in the rear... I have a sway bar back there too.

Those old Lakewood bars are now laying in the garge floor. As stated in the first post I have the "cal-trac" style bars that Boosted Thrills is making over on SSF.

Angling toward the ground in the front? Doesn't matter - they still served their purpose. Albeit they were not adjusable which is why I upgraded.

Yup, I'm probably a member on most of the boards - just post mostly at SSF since I know most of the guys over there. Too bad it's really dead over there now...

man, i realy like your truck. were you guys not alowed to pass out on the track? and i must say, your truck is beautiful. i have always wondered how well a properly set up dime would handle and/or fair on a full out track.

Funny that this thread came up again - I was watching Musclecar on Spike a few weeks ago and I spotted that truck in an arial shot of all the cars at that Road Atlanta event. I recognized it from hector's avatar on SSF but I forgot about this thread.

His rep aint sh*t, look at mine LOL.

Yeah that's Adams truck. He has has beat Edelbrock IAS shocks on in those vids....haha. Imagine with good shocks.

King, on the right handers it had some tire spin. He still had an open rear at the time.

LMAO Jesus in 2008, sorry just thought that is funny, Yeah I can imagine with good shocks.. so that means mine should be slightly better even with the rearend setup am going with?
Yeah I would imagine being a Moderator
and A VIP member might have something to do with your rep.
I look at each of your join dates and see Eric, almost 9,000 post in 23 months. Guess you just post more to get to be VIP. Well I dont intend on leaving S10 Planet too many cool people with bad ass rides with lots of info to give out. Hell what else am I gonna do in Iraq. Boring as f#$% here.

If you're going with that 3-link (or was it 4-link) I would think you could stick your rear better than mine on those tight right-handers.

My biggest problem is those 3" drop leafs. Since there's hardly any "arch" they just can't hold down the that inside right wheel. As you know that's the way that the rear end tends to "twist" (relative to the driveshaft) so it just lifts that wheel right off the ground.

I had bought Boosted's traction bars hoping to add some preload to that side but never got the chance to adjust them.

I STILL haven't adjusted them for that matter...

One of my future projects will be a better setup for the rear. I really was hoping THIS year would be the year. But with the economy going down the way it is I'm gonna have to save that 2-grand (or whatever) "just in case." You know?

I'll just live vicariously through you!!! :)

I was hoping you would put a lighter, more powerful engine in it (Like a LSx) :D I'm so jealous!

I've been running the Caltracs and Belltech rear leafs. They come with a aluminum front bushing, but I need to find something for the back (For sure a panhard bar, but there isn't a lot of room to make it fit, and some polyurathane bushings for the frame/rear leaf eye). Let me know how those front spindles work.

Yeah 4 link / coilovers / 9'' ford rear / prob sway bar setup as well , I watched ur vids like 5 times all 3 . running with the Porche. Impressive. Hopefully my 355 and tremec will prove to be worthy of this setup. I am still planning on an EFI 383 stroker setup(420-480hp)
Im not jesus LOL

Well, technically I have a 2001 Blazer bar up front. ;)

But yes, it's the 33mm bar. It helped a lot versus the old 24.7mm or whatever it was.
