***Winter Storm Warning in effect for all of WNY today and tonight***

Today:
Cold with snow developing around midday. Turning windy. 3-6" of accumulation by tonight.
High: 10-15 Winds: E/NE 10-20

Tonight:
Snow, heavy at times and lake enhanced. Blowing and drifting snow with windy conditions, continued cold. An additional 6-10" of snow.
Low: 8-13 Winds: NE/N 15-30+

Tomorrow:
Snow tapering off by the afternoon. Still cold with blowing and drifting snow continuing. Total snowstorm accumulations between 10-18" (more near Lake Ontario and the Southern Tier).
High: 8-13 Winds: N/NW 15-30

Worst thing to all this is no one knows for sure what the Lake will add to this, could be just whats there or over 30 inches in persistant lake snow bands. And they make out NYC , Boston and other cities a big deal over 6-10 inches!!! Well I get to head out just in a few for the begining of this storm and have to go into the city tonite to drop the wife and daugther off at the Hillary concert if thats still on!! Boy I can't wait, sub zero wind chills, foot of snow plus and me out driving!!!

May the Force be with me and not the XxinfaxX force nature!!!

I can feel for ya. . . We've got about the same thing going on here. At least WNYers can drive! Darn Ohioans can't drive if it RAINS, let alone snows!

Hey, S/C'd, I'm a native Ohioan and I can **** sure handle myself in adverse weather. I don't know how it is in southern OH, but I learned to drive up around Akron where we get plenty of that great lake-effect snow. My complaint now is with all these Texans that **** a brick when any kind of water falls from the sky! :banghead_

Yeah, I'm in central/southern Ohio -- I don't know what it is, but people in Columbus can't drive worth a **** even on dry streets! And it seems that every year they FORGET that it's going to snow, and forget how to drive in it.

That be you Jake!!

Just got back in, accidents abounding since everyone treats this as a normal Saturday. Those who really have no reasons to be out are still out in hoards and those of us who have reasons had wished we didnt so we would stay home. 5 inches of snow and itsw COMING down with Lake enhancment in it big time. Winds are ENE at 20 mph blowing more in off the lake and making -20 wind chills.

GOD I LOVE This, really I do as long as I'm here in a warm safe environment!!! There now updating the forecast due to the winds across the lake to 20+ inches by morn!!!! Snow Blower did its first pass and is gased and ready for more!!!

Why do I have the feeling that the snow blower isn't the only thing that's gassed and ready to go?

I went to visit a friend in Texas during the early 80s that was stationed in the Lubbick area. It snowed and 3 inches had fallen just before we got there and at the state line they had the roads closed with Troopers. We pulled up and they told us we had to get lodging near by and wait it out, we couldnt continue due to the road conditions. Allmost got arrested by laughing in his face!! WHat snow are we talking about? this trace amount. He was pissed until he saw the plates and said it figures, but I still can let you go. Whats to stop us from offroading some to get around you like we never even saw you?? His reply was to get to were your going and if you get arrested I KNOW NOTHING. Yup I can see that happening shutting down the whole city etc. After we went by him it was very dangerous to be out, it wasnt the snow, it was the other drivers. They had NO IDEA how to run in the snow and it was very evident. The brakes stops and the gas makes it go and thats exactly how they were driving, the ones whom were out!! SCARRY!!! Before we got hit we went to a Inn and spent the nite!!!

Just over a foot off snow, drifting bad with drifts in excess of 3 feet deep in spots. Winds are still kicking around up and over 30 mph.

ITS A WINTER WONDERLAND!

State of Emergency was declared this morning meaning all unnessecary travel is forbidden. That way they can clear the roads and remove the snow. Northwest of here around XxinfaxX and further west got up to 30 inches due to the lake enhancement. We stand where I could get a solid non blown area 16 inches+ on a 4 measurement average.

SLEDDING TIME!!! Hope the old bones dont break!!

Well Hammer reporting from CT:
looks similar to Jedi's joint, except i'm in a city

30mph sustained 45+ gusts
5 foot drifts
driveway sucked. but the air dam was ok as the plow since it was fluffy and i was carefull and knew what the f i was doing, lol. it shoveled now.

being a native of wny i don't shovel unless i can't get out, lol

only because i don't have a snow blower and my landlord does the snow removal :)
