my labtop is only 3 months old..." Dell inspiron 1521 "
soo i noticed it wasent running right..soo i go to restart it...
and after i try to restart it won't work...it would try to start windows then flash and shutdown and restart itself...
it went to a start up in repair mode...soo i ran a check on the disk...
it says " system volume corrupt " what does this mean ?
i got it to work now...im on right now..but its REALLY slow and all my info seems to somehow be lost...
any idea ?

You got a VIRUS.
I have been working on my PC for a week now, last night I had to to reformat.
Same crap mine was telling me.

well damn...and to think i've payed for Norton 360 to protect my computer...
is there any better security system's to protect the computer that you would reccomend ?
It may be a bad HD or just going bad(it happens). I would try to burn any important files onto a CD then use your system restore discs that should have came with your laptop to reformat and make it like it was when you brought it home. Then virus scan the CD before you put your stuff back on the computer. If the restore discs did not come with it, call Dell and request them.
Now... never pay for Norton anything... let it expire. I wouldn't even leave it on my computer... paid or not. It's ineffective bloatware, not ranked good on any top reports. I've been using freeware antivirus and firewall software and haven't had one virus in many, many years.

I dont use symantics junk, I use Trend Micro and to be honest thats what helped me clean the comp before I reformatted due to settings that the virus changed.
I would remove the norton **** and get something better.
EWIDO is fantastic.
I use TM now its been great
However I have 3 different adware programs on here and spy not incuding the internet watcher and antivirus programs.

I've had pretty good luck with Webroot products. I did not like McAfee, Norton, Trendmicro and a couple others I can't even remember. It seemed like they were allways slowing me down.

My dell done about the same exact thing and turned out to be a cracked mobo, then dell had the nerve to tell me it was gonna cost more than it would to get a brand new dell to fix it.

they said the hard drive was toast...lol:D
and since i can't seem to find my disk that came with the computer there sending those too...YAY!!
Sweet deal... not that you lost a HD but that Dell is willing to do you right.

Sell that HD on fleabay and get you another one and put xp on it, lol.
They probably ran out of XP loaded hard drives. Problems may arise when you get it installed if all the compoinents aren't completely Vista approved. Hope all goes well.
By the way... if you do what Neo suggests... do not sell the Vista drive until you get another drive installed, loaded and working first. ;)
