Driveshaft -ford 9"

Just put in a new currie 9" housing in my s10 with a currie 3rd member. Also installed 3" drop leafs. My original d/s I had cut down for my 8.5, so I just got another stock shaft today and it is too short, about 1/2".
Has anyone else had this problem? Btw, its a 97 ex-cab short box truck 2wd.

I thought you had to shorten the driveshaft to run a 9"
