I'm doing some mods and improvements. I thought I'd post my stuff.
New Granatelli Mass Flow sensor- its huge and the same diameter of the K&N FIPK intake. I couldn't believe how small and restrictive the stock MAF was.

Did some changes to my Air Horn setup-
Added SS PSI line, New PSI Gauge and drilled/tapped a hole for an air chuck to use for airing up tires.

I sold my Hypertech PPIII for $200 on ebay- used the money to get a nice tune. I bought a new ECM off ebay for like $75.00. ( So I'll have 2 ECMs now ) The guy also included a tune with the purchase of the ECM. Total came out to be around $136 shipped with the tune. That’s pretty cheap. I'll plug it up and see how my truck runs. If I don't like it- I'll send the ECM to PCMforless.com and pay a little more. I know they do good tunes.

( 2 JL 10" W6D2 subs, JL 6 channel, JL mono block )
I replaced my inner and outer tie rods, drag link, Idle arm, all poly dust caps. Replaced my sway bar bushings with poly and the front 2 mounts. Replaced my tranny mount as well with poly. I need to do my motor mounts. Is this an easy task ? recommend any good mounts ? I’ve seen a lot of custom mounts through the threads.
I also got a Marine intake off ebay for $200. Cheaper than buying the newer spider setup. I’m going to drill/tap holds for a brake booster line and water bypass for the water pump.

I just replaced my front brakes with new Cross Drilled / Slotted rotors and Hawk performace Ceramic pads. Just installed Goodridge SS Brake lines.
I kept my old rotors and my work has a machine shop. I thought I would turn these down into ' hubs ' for a later upgrade to corvette dual piston brakes.

Sounds good.
How old is the MAF? I just reinstalled mine because I had a MAF code one time and I thought it was bad. Ive been talking to a real nice and knowlegable guy at GMS. So far no code, so maybe my issue wasnt the MAF. Im giving it until next week. Anyways, reason I ask the date on it, is because the guy at GMS told me there is an updated tune to the MAF with cold-Air tuning. Mine is model 350116-C. Unless its under warranty, its $50 to have them update it. I may do that in a week.
The shocks are availinle at AutoZone (Bilstien). I think they are around $60/pc here.
The steering shaft may have a option. Unbalanced Engeneering makes a aluminum solid rag joint for the 82-92 F-bodies which I think is the same diameter as the S-series joint. Im going to get one one day for my TransAm. They also have one for the 4th Gen F-bodies. You may want to contact them and ask is they are the same. Or send them a s-series rag joint and have them make one.
Stock thermostat does have an O-ring attached to the rim of the thermostat. No gasket if I remember right.
Let us know how the marine manifold goes. Al at Wynjammer is working on one, and theres a few other members here with them.
What kind of rotors?

About your comment on how restrictive the MAF is. On a N/A S-10?
Based on assumption or you have data to confirm this?
T-stat housing is an O-ring and forget about spending money on the Edelbrock IAS. Had two leak all the fluid out with less than 2k miles on them. They were a nice ride for about 3 months. After that it rode like a lumber wagon.
Went back to Monroes and have been happier ever since.
Might really want to research those shocks before blowing cash on'em.

The MAF is in new condition. Never used on a truck. I bought it from a guy that was going to use it. But he didn't and left it in the box on a shelf in his garage for a while. I believe its part number 350116-C. So there is already an update for it ???
I've tried emailing Al about a wiring harness for the marine set up. I have yet to hear about from him. I may have to make my own.
Here are the brake rotors I got off ebay :

Also you can buy them here too :

I'll post some pics of my install too.
Thanks for the info on the steering stuff- I'll research everything-

I can fit the stock MAF inside the new MAF. I think the stock one is almost 2" - the new MAF is 3.5" I don't know what everything is in MM.
Thanks for your shock info. Thats why I'm asking around to see what everyone is using. Should I go back to Bilstein ? Did Edelbrock not warranty their shocks for you ?

Contact Alex Clochiatti at Granetelli. Hopefully you will have some sore of date code. They ususally engrave some ID #s on the side that hangs off. See what he says.

Please don't tell me you based your restriction comment based on physical size?
The throttle body and the MAF are far from a restriction for a non aspirated 4.3l. You really are going to see minimal gains with the Granatelli piece.
Not trying to discourage you, just being realistic.
After running to go look at a stock spare MAF I have, It's just shy of 3" ID and 3 1/4" OD.

Edelbrock did indeed the warranty quite nicely, but for the money, why should I have to replace them so soon? I got better performance out of the factory installed garbage shocks that came with the truck than I got out of the Edel's.

I understand this- I wasn't expecting 30 HP.. I was thinking maybe 5 HP- My tuner is going to adjust my ECM for it. My truck is running lean and its throwing codes. The Granatelli is much larger. Its 3.5"

Thats good that they took care of you on them.

Man, my truck really bogs down right at 1500 RPM. If I give it more gas its great above 2K. I think the new MAF lets a lot more air through- I called and talked to the guy thats programming my ECM and he's going to change the maps on that to fix it.

New Paint on the front top and lower bumpers. ( $500.00 – eating beans this month lol ) Added XPEL ( www.xpel.com (http://www.xpel.com) ) yellow protecting film ( 30 mil ) to the fogs. Small panels behind the parking lights and headlights were painted to match as well. Removed the 1” rear lowering blocks. Picking up a lot of drive shaft vibrations. I think the 1” drop blocks changed my pinion angle and my U joints might be toast… again. Whole shaft assemb. was replaced at 85k miles. ( $1200.00 GM part, but replaced under warranty )

I'm about to have a guy retune my truck again with HP tuners. He's a local guy to me. Going to tune with Wide band this time.
I went by Autozone- my truck was throwing 4 codes every 40 miles.
Codes : P0304, P0175, P0172, P0133
P0304 is a misfire code...
The others are all 02 sensor related...Generally when you install headers the Fuel trims get whacked out and the injector flow rate tables need to be adjusted beyond what the PCM can correct for. So with that said, more or less I found a competent tuner to adjust them so the computer doesnt over compensate for increase in exhaust flow like it already is. Its thinking with the increased exhaust flow, and same air intake, that the car is seeing a lean condition and adjusting the fueling curve. Problem is, while the computer does that it throws the long and short term trims out of whack which in turn tells the computer that it might have a vacuum leak. The misfire could be a cause from this over fueling condition. The parameters of heater codes etc may need tweaking to satisfy the factory requirements.
Going to throw back in the Rev limiter, program for computer controlled fans, change to 93 octane, fix everything!
Let us know how it runs when you get the reprogrammed ECM.
Works great now...sorta

Normally you do not adjust IFR unless you change injectors.
Let us know what you find about the stearing shaft.

The stock MAF on our 4.3's is the same one used on 350's. I run a supercharger thru my stock MAF.
I also have HPTuners. I scoff at your restriction remark especially seeing on how you based off of size.
Your best bet would have been to just get the computer tune and saved the cash on the Grannytelli piece.
The performance isn't worth the money. Some report problems with leaning out, some report short life span, etc.
Good luck with it. Hope you get something worthwhile out of it.

Like I said, I have no problems with it. I have a tune as well through HPTuners. I didn't pay but $150 for the G MAF. Thanks for the info.
hey man i PM'd you at s-seriesforum. i need a response lol
