Don't know if I phrased that right, but what is the best way to store stuff like videos and digital photos? I had put them on CDs, but one of them got scratched or something and won't read... So, is there a way to get the photos off that scratched CD and a better way to store them?

I just upload mine to photobucket that way if something happens to the cd or the pc they will still be there!+ do you have more then one cd drive?if so try another drive.and if it wont read make sure to see if another cd will read.if not the possible reboot your pc and let windows recognose your drive.either that or invest in a storage media usb device which Im thinking of doing, just trying to help ya bro.

x2 with the toothpaste....rub it on lightly with your finger and then wipe off with a tissue. I would also buy a external portable hard drive to store your pics on...

^^^ Never wipe around the CD always wipe across the CD.

Tink, you could get either a portable external drive or a thumb drive(aka jump drive, USB drive). Storing priceless things on different medias is only good if you store them safely. :D CDs/DVDs work fine if you keep them put away in a safe location. The other digital options aren't fail-safe either but can store considerably more data.

Do you have jewelry cleaner works but dont let it get on the other side of the disk.
Storage....maybe invest in a external hard drive or a flash drive with enough memory depending on how much memory you need.

huh, toothpaste... I should have thought of that... I use toothpaste to polish and repair scratches on glass pistons in HPLC pumps at work. Thanks guys, I'll give it a try.... really don't want to lose those pictures.
