let me tell you whats up.

I drive a 91 S-10 and put plenty of miles on it, so I ended up cracking one of the stock wheels. Instead of just replacing it, I decided to get a nicer set of wheels without doing anything drastic,(didn't want to, and couldn't afford it anyway). So I went from the stock 14 inchers to 15 inch steel wheels. They look good, maybee made a small difference in handling, but.... heavier so MPG's are down, braking distance is up (no good).

Obviously going to an aluminum wheel could help out here, but cost is a big issue so I guess my question would be multifaceted.

First, what is the lightest wheel available that would work for a street application? 14 or 15 inch hopefully by 7 and not 8, I don't need the grip.

Second, what would be the most cost effective option to overcome my weighty woes?

Does anyone deal with LMC truck? they are selling 15x7 aluminum wheels for $99 a piece. has anyone purchased these, or seen these? Are they a good deal or would I be throwing my money away.

i think they would be a good deal. 99 bux for aluminum wheels. not bad. my choice would be the chrome ones for 79$... but i like chrome better.

the lightest streetable wheel in my opinion is made by weld. There raceing wheels so there isn't ahole lot to choose from, but they'er forged unlike some of the outher light weights and from what i've seen come in sizes up to 20".

if you just want some getmebys go find some stock aluminum s-series wheels from 94-96. I'm not too sure what all 97s will fit and nothing from 98 up will fit. the SS wheels are actually pretty light for stockers and look pretty good on 1st gen trucks.

I'm looking at the ones in LMC and those are an actuale replica of some stocker that came on early 80s s-10s or sonomas. I belive it was a factory add-on. The originals were magnisium and are rare.

So, the ones in LMC, the stocker fakes, are they any good?

If you want a good rim that's light and looks good and cheap find a set of the ZQ8 rims. They look great in my opinion and are easy to find at a wrecking yard. They are 16's but 16 inch tires are so common they can be got cheap too.And you might find some with tires on them. Here is a pic of a S10 with them.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=678&stc=1
