what are you looking to use the truck for? That is a big factor in your choice

i say invest in suspension, and then if its not enough, then add a body lift. i think 3" body lift is a little too much imo, thats why i went with 2". there's a 5" or 6" suspension lift for the first gen 4x4's somewhere, dont remember who makes it. probably superlift

I'd go with the Superlift 2"... that is what I had/have on my 91 Blazer. I never had the bad problems associated with the lift and I had the torsion bars cranked 9 turns. It is just upper control arms, re-indexed t-bar keys and shackles. So the thing you might need a shop or a special tool for is because you would need to be able to unload your torsion bars to replace the keys (OR you can run w/o them and just crank the old keys). Other than that, you'll need an alignment. If the 2" Superlift isn't quite enough, you could add a 2" body lift to it. (My plan if I put my 91 Blazer on back on the road).

If you have more $ to spend, then you could go with the BDS 5".... I wouldn't recommend the Trailmaster 5" because of the way they have you modify your upper control arms (you actually have to cut them!) - I'd only go with it if you already have the 2" Superlift arms (you can use them w/o modification).
