As many of you know, I just got a new Sonoma. On my way home from a class I saw and STI on the road I was turning onto. At first I was just envying it, then I wanted to run to see where my 'Noma compared. I knew she would eat my lunch, but what the hell. At first I was just going, then I saw her about a 1/4 mile ahead, that's when I tried to catch up. She got caught at a red light. I could tell from the way she was taking off that she would race me. I pull up next to her and when the light turned green I eased into the throttle then mashed it(to keep from spinning), as did she. Suprisingly, I kept within 1 length until about 50mph. In first gear, I was pulling on her. I think the guy that I got the truck from may have done something to it performance wise.
And your Sonoma has what engine? Year? More details...

4.3/auto is what he has.
I raced one too a while back. I got him off the line and throught 1st and into 2nd. But past that he pulled on me. He was kinda a d!ck too about it. I guess he felt he should whopped me worse. Whatever. I just wish I had 3.42s in there at the time instead of the 3.08s

Isn't that what my ZR2 has? I pretty sure it does...
and how the hell does the s10 keep up? I thought the STI was better than that?
i call b.s. either someone does'nt know how to drive or it's an rs with sti badges.... this is the funniest thing i've heard all day..

The STI's are quick. I know a few peeps with them.
Im not a BS-er and what I said was legit. If the guy didnt know how to drive, thats his problem.
I know the STI will clean my S-10's plow. But it wont even come close in my TA.
But if I had 3.42s in there, Id kept in front for a bit more than I had with the 3.08s.
In the 1/8th or in the 1/4, he wouldve got me either way.

Nope
The Boxter engine has a nice throaty sound to it, And I respect it in Turbo state.
But theres no replacement for displacement

I think part of it was that she was a bad driver. I could tell it was a stick because it nose dived when she let of the throttle to shift. She granny shifted pretty bad, she took at least .5 sec for each shift she made.

My old Blazer would take it.
