Toronto, Ontario - Motoring TV, now in its 18th season on TSN, has announced its 2005's Car of the Year Winners.

The overall Car of the Year was awarded to the Chrysler 300C/Dodge Magnum. Nominees were the Chevrolet Corvette, Chrysler 300C/Dodge Magnum, and Honda Accord Hybrid.

The individual category winners were as follows:



Sports Car - Chevrolet Corvette
Nominees: BMW 645Ci, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang
Economy Car - Chevrolet Cobalt/Pontiac Pursuit
Nominees: Chevrolet Cobalt/Pontiac Pursuit, Kia Spectra5, Mercedes-Benz Smart
SUV - BMW X3
Nominees: BMW X3, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Pathfinder
Family Car - Honda Accord Hybrid
Nominees: Honda Accord Hybrid, Subaru Legacy, Pontiac G6
Affordable Sports Car - Toyota Corolla XRS

Pick-Up Truck - Dodge Dakota

Luxury - Chrysler 300C/Dodge Magnum

Repeat dates and times for the Motoring 2005 Car of the Year one-hour special on TSN are: Thursday January 27 at 1:00 am; and, Saturday January 29 at 3:30 am, and prior to the live TSN coverage of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at 12:00pm (EST). Motoring is currently in its 18th season and is TSN and Bradford Productions' longest running program. Over the past 18 years Motoring has been the recipient of numerous journalistic and automotive broadcast awards. Bradford recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2004.
