Sorry I havent been around in a while, been some bad times......
But anyway, I dont know if yall remember my cracked piston problem, but instead of getting a new vehicle like I was talking about I am going to get one of these ---> www.jasperengines.com
Just about **** near bullet proof motor, with 75K mile warranty. If it breaks they will 99% of the time just give you a new motor. I am having a cam and raised compression slapped into it.
If I break this motor, someone should really take my lisence away!

Sounds great. So what motor are you gonna slap in there?

it is another 2.8, but not just any ordinary 2.8.
It is going to be balanced, higher compression, and have a very nice cam.
I am looking at 200ft lbs torque before I starting yanking the EGR off again and tuning it. probably 220ft lbs after all that.
you sure do have a hard on for those 2.8's huh? What is it gonna run you? My Boss ran a Jasper eng and trans combo in his cirlce track car and it was quick as hell.
220 ftlb out of a 2.8 thats alot

Been wondering what was going on. Hadn't heard anything since you cracked the piston, but I keep seeing your truck around town. You having it swapped at a shop, or gonna borrow a lift?

Get a 3.4 if you must stay at 60 degrees.A better foundation to keep building on.

I want to but I couldnt afford to beef the 3.4 up, the beefed up 2.8 is breaking my bank as it is.
matt4.3 TBI, I am going to have a shop drop it in. They can do it in 2 days when it would take me a week.
find a 97^ dohc lumina or grand prix. Most have a 60* engine. There considered throw away cars so you can usaly pick them up pretty cheap. You'll get the advantage of mpfi and a programable comp. They run pretty strong too.

true, the 3.4L mpfi is the way to go unless you can go bigger than that, but i had an mpfi'd 2.8 from an 86 camaro, it was no 383 but it felt nothing like a carbbed 2.8. anyways good luck!

I am getting my truck back with the new motor in it tommorow evening. I cant wait till I can test drive it. The new larger TBI unit is going on it also. My exclamation point key doesnt work so, imagine alot of those.
