Here's a write up I did on another forum. It's for an LS1 TB, but the 4.3 TB is very similar. The major difference is that the material you want to remove is behind the throttle body blade, not in front of it.

*************

Not that you can't find this info anywhere else on the net, or anything, but I've been porting them for a few different people and all of the LS conversions I've done. And, since I've never seen something like this on our board, I figured I would contribute.
Parts needed
Summit 3-Piece Non-Ferrous Deburr Kits: SUM-900230 - summitracing.com (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D900230&N=700+115&autoview=sku)
Standard Abrasives Deluxe Porting Kits: SAI-260001 - summitracing.com (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SAI%2D260001&N=700+115&autoview=sku)
Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94962)
Pictures are self explainatory. Basically, you want to remove the lip infront of the blade. Some people epoxy the IAC and other port on the upper part of the TB, but I've never gone through the trouble.

Do not remove any material at this line. This is where the blade sits. Only remove material infront of this line.

If you do this, you'll see probably around 10hp gain, and better throttle responce. Just becareful not to grind through the TB walls. They have some thin places, namely, just below and forward of the IAC.
Some also remove the forward half of the blade shaft. This is really easy to cut while the shaft is out of the TB. Also, while doing this, you can grind the linkage stop if your TB won't open to 100%.

My dad has a supercharged Silverado with a BBK 80mm TB on it. A few months ago, he was coming for a visit and the cable linkage broke on his TB. I brought him the TB that is pictured here and he's been running with it ever since. He says he likes it better because it idles better and smoother accelleration than the BBK. He says that he can feel a little loss in power over his BBK at WOT, but the extra drivability is worth the 10hp he's losing.

I did about the same thing on a TB from a 5.7. I did mine the old school way (by hand w/ progressive grades of sandpaper). I don't know about power gains tho. I did UD's, 1.6's, and the TB on the same session. The drivability is good tho. Throttle response is right on and I think it revs quicker than before.

Go to www.ls1tech.com and find some old post by I believe Nick White he used to port LS1 TB's similar to 2nd gen TB's just bigger. He was well know for doing GREAT work. I remember seeing lots of pics of his stuff you can get some ideas.
