went to leave my neighborhood yesterday and turned on to a busy street. whouldve worked if the thruck didn't start bogging down bad :grumpy_12 . my air/fuel gauge was reading all the way lean and the check engine light came on. after reving it a few times the problem went away and hasn't come back. got the code read and it was a randome cylinder misfire. the plugs and wires, fuel filter are fairly new and I have a msd 6a with a msd coil. if it was any of this I don't see why it would go away. could it be the fuel pressure regulator. any feedback appreciated.
thanks.

May be some carbon or something got stuck in the plug gap. Some people say don't run a msd coil with a msd hot box. it does something somewhere, not sure I forgot. Wait a minute you said it all the way lean so that means it wasn't getting fuel. May be clogged injector. Hell on these computer controlled vehicles now a days it could be anything, and the code doesn't have to nessecarily mean it misfired. I'm sure Jedi will give you some good feed back.
I need to get me one of those a/f gauges.

Have you checked your air filter yet? I have an AEM Brute Force and that little bastard works itself loose from time to time and will suck air from behing the MAF sensor. This cause it to run lean, backfire and bog down on takeoff. All I do is pop the hood then tighten the clamps back up. When it is off and I rev it hard then it'll go lean on my a/f ratio gauge and it won't every go really rich. This would be one quick check before you look into other expensive options.

make sure your plug wires aren't burnt or near the manifold.
