i have a 2000 blazer with the 4.3 it runs great and has no issues at all. i am getting ready to pull it and the trans for a low comp V8 with turbos. i want to use the 4.3 and 4l60e in my sons PROJECT 91 ex cab truck. which also came with a 4.3/700r4 which is no longer there. the truck wasnt hacked up and all the stock wiring is there. even all the ECM wiring. how would i go about hooking this up in the 91? i know i need the ECM and harness from the 2000 but what?? just the engine harness? or is there more. i know i need the fuel pump and all that wiring but can i get away with the stock harness or would i still need to get something made?

If you plan on swapping the 2000 4.3 and its injection componets as a whole into the 1st Gen, you indeed need the engine harness and the PCM. Thats pretty much it. Other than that its just wiring it all in for power and such.

I would think you have to adapt the newer engine/ dash harness to the older truck.

The areas of the cluster/gagues to consider are :
Speedo, Tach is applicable, Fuel level, Oil Press, Eng Temp and Volts.
Volts should be no problem since both 1st and the 2nd Gen use the clusters power wire to see the volts.
Fuel level on the 2nd Gen goes through the BCM but the 1st Gen has a stand-alone sender setup to the gague. Keep that as it.
Engine temp Ill have to check into. You may need to add a seperate sender.
Oil press you may also need to add a seperate sender.
Speedo, you may need an adapter or reuse the older VSS.
Tach if applicable should just be able to tap the older trucks cluster wire onto the tach signal from the coil.

i was going to reuse the 1st gen cluster. fuel gauge, and speedo. i have autometer volt, oil pressure, and water temp gauges and a 5" monster tach all from my old 1st gen v8 blazer. so i just need to get the speedo working. i guess current performance might be able to help there? the 91 does have the electric speedo. so he might be able to help with something there? anyone know where i can get dummy proof wiring schematics for the 2000 for the fuel pump wiring?
