Wow not even a welcome from the modurator.Did i say something wrong?I am here just like everyone else probably.Meet new people and share info about s-10's.Only reason i am writing this is because i noticed there is another guy that joined same time as me and he got 10 replies.I joined a diffrent org about 2 years ago called.COR which is a sportbike chat forum just a bunch of real good guys and gals i ride sportbikes with.Anyways Most of them greeted me when i joined.Maybe i joined wrong?I am a 35 year old single guy with 2 kids.I live in North Cali between Fresno and Modesto.I ride my zx6r alot for gas reasons and the thrill.I just bought this 87 s-10 for 600 bucks but it is stressing me out.It just wont go over 4K on tach like there is a rev limiter on it and it will barely hit 65 mph.So that is my delima.Anyways hello to everyone.Glad to see so many nice trucks on here and people with the same interests.

Generally if you post in the new members area the welcome wishers come out of the woodwork. Actually you'll not find a friendlier bunch than most of us. The regulars have a good time. We do love pictures, so If you have any, we really enjoy them. So let me be the first and probably not the last to welcome you to S-10 Planet.

Hello & Welcome to the Planet!
You must have posted on a slow hour for the Planet. Typically, new members get bombed with greetings.

The 4.3 in my old blazer did the same when I first bought it. Full tune up, 2 bottles of seafoam and an oil system flush got it going again.
Welcome.

ive got a buddy at work with the same problem. but just rebuilt his 2.2 and then it started doing that.... i think it sounds like a timing problemto me on his. but he just lets it sit now and wont tare into it so i still don't know whats causeing it. i agree with the tune up idea though try the cheap stuff first

Maybe the mufflers clogged. A peace of the honey comb thing in the cat could of got lodged in there if the cat was bad before you removed it. I had a 84 caddy once. The muffler on it was so clogged up with carbon that it did the same thing your truck is doing. You could check the exhaust piping too. Just in case its been crushed some where. The previous owner could of hit a curb of something and crush the "y" pipe or something. I'm thinking the muffler is probably clogged though.

welcome bud:cool:
I don't get on much on the weekends/Friday evening myself... too busy out wrenching on the trucks! But Welcome to the Planet!
Surprised to hear it doesn't want to rev... our 83 2.8L likes to rev... could be a plugged exhaust issue. Other than that it runs good?
i vote clogged cat. oh and see above for welcomings.

I would take in to a muffler shop to get a new muffler put on it first before I go to a mechanic. Part of the inside of the cat could of come loose and gotten lodged in the muffler.
