First or Second Gen? 2dr or 4dr? I got a plan to put a pair of 10"s in the lil compartments on either side of the back seat of a second gen. It's just a matter of time I have the components allready, just gotta get the time and supplies to make the custom boxes.

And we put mine and my brothers on his truck for the heck of it,
it was extremely loud, like it was hard to pass saliva lol

I was actually talking about the 1st generation i think. Its an 87 2 door blazer.Right now i have 2 8in bass tubes in there and they are ok i guess but i am looking more for the old school impare your vision hat rattle off your head bass. You know where you can barely breath.I think 15's are to much and 10's are not enough.I think a descent set of 12's would be the ticket.Should the box face towards the back window or forward towards the front?I think backwards to the back seat devider. If anyone has a set of 12's Let me know i have 2 amps i am siting on and the blazer is all wired up just need the 12's and box.

I know a guy who had a pair of 18"s in a 2 door 2nd gen. It would make people piss themselves.

Low frequencies are non-directional. Thats why you can hear bass fro a long ways off and not the highs until they get up to you.
Low frequencies also tend to sound best off reflection. Which is one reason why a home sub will most of the time sound louder if near a corner of the room.
Facing them back or up would be best from my experiences with subs in a suv.
If you are porting the box, make sure the subs and ports are on the same side. Keep the subs on the same side too.

Depending on your style of music, depends on your selection of box type. Sealed or Ported is best. I hate bandpass enclosures. Isobaric is OK but really hard to calculate and theres a number of isobaric configurations to work with. Sealed is by far the easiest to calculate and build as long as you got the woofers spec sheet. Ported isnt hard either but there are a few more figures to calculate concerning the port style/port diameter/port length/port displacement inside the enclosure.
In the Mobile Electronics section here, we have a Sticky section that has alot of invaluble info for you to read through. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

in the '99 all you can see is the actual subs. the amps hidden in the center console and the cap is shoved all the way up in the right side of the dash
