View Full Version : Suggestion for site
It can be a tedious task finding threads related to your specific year vehicle/engine.
I am proposing this hack be installed

I was using this in an old forum of mine. It's awesome. Just fill it with the year of the vehicle/engine that the post pertains to. Or put a list of different engines. I am pretty sure it is customizable per forum. Some of you would have to volunteer to update some of the old threads tho. :O

No can do... The XML file is for vb 3.6.10 or lower. We are running 3.7.3. Another way around this is for the moderators to add tags onto each thread. Then you could search tags.

what idea did u have for this tag adding job? as i stated before, i'm up for helping... or doing...
as long as the code works, u just need to say to ignore the version. doesn't work, back it out. i'm sure I could do any needed changes to it however.
so looks like 3.7 has this built in now. Any chance it can be turned on and populated?

Sure can.... What prefixes would you think would be helpful? Obviously "for sale" and "for trade" and such will go in the classified section... but what would you like to see in the other sections.
cool...well depending on forum...
1st Gen
2nd Gen
Pickup
Blazer
Maybe engine type 4.3, 2.8 v8 etc.
First 2 are most important. Not sure if u can do more than one at a time, like 1st Gen and Blazer.
Start with those for now I guess. See how it goes.
Thx!
