my father is looking to buy a 99 chevy 3500 box truck and he's wondering if anyone can check the vehicle history......the vin is "1GBHG31R5X1100018" if anyone has an yearly pass to carfax and they could check this it would be greatly appreciated.....THANKS.....
the seller has to provide with a full disclosuer of the vehicles history if you request it.
If the falsify or leave anything pertanate out and you find out about it after you've bought the vehicle you can file a claim on them for 3 times the bluebook value of the vehicle at the time of purchase plus exspenses. i'm not sure what the statute of limitations on it is and it is subject to some state admendments.

Just a little FYI about carfax.........If the vehicle in question was in an accident carfax would only know of it if it was reported. For instance when I bought my blazer the carfax report said nothing bad, just who owned it, or had it registered and where, and when and where it was originally purchased. After a few months I noticed the back bumper had been repainted. I don't see any other signs of a rear end type accident.
All those people that get into accidents and don't report it to there ins. (and fix it themselves; being a friend or paying a body shop) or the ins. doesn't report it to the DMV than carfax would not know about it, and therefore it wouldn't show up on the report.
A friend of mine was just in an accident and the guy that hit him paid $700 to have my friends car fixed through someone that he knows. It was never reported to the ins. which means it wasn't reported to the DMV, which means it won't be on a carfax report. The accident wasn't that bad, but it crunched the left rear fender and part of the trunk. Needless to say it was still damage to that vehicle that carfax doesn't know about.
