Well, after owning my blazer for a little over a year and fixing the problems I had with it I finally felt safe enough to take it offroad.

I have seen these dirt roads off of the highway for a while now and I always wondered what was up there. Today I decided to find out. I drove for about 3 miles from the highway and came to a sign that said "Nevada state wildlife refuge" I stopped and looked at the map they had posted and saw that the trail went about 47 miles through the canyon to the other side of the mountain. I decided to go ahead through until the end. It took a lot longer than I expected since I had to go around 10-15 mph most of the way due to the terrain. It was beautiful the whole way through. I was very impressed at how well my blazer did on the trail. There were a few spots where I was a bit scared I might get stuck but my blazer got through it no problem, I didn't even use 4wd at all. I can't wait to go find some other trails.

Anyways, sorry for the long post but here are some pics....

Is that a bird in this pic or something on your windshield? If that is a bird it looks like one huge SOB compared to the rest of the background!

No, my windshield has a crack in it. When I first uploaded the pics I thought it was a bird too.:D

Maybe one day I'll throw a small lift kit on and some better tires but for now I don't plan on any real hardcore offroading just small little trails.

We have the same scenery here in AZ. I love finding trails that I have never been on, never know what your gonna find! I definately recomend finding some buddies. Its a bummer when something gives out and your 30 miles off a main road! Oh yeah, nice bird!
