I'm swapping a 4l60 from a 2dr 2wd 98 GMC Jimmy to a 4dr 2wd 00 Blazer. The torque converter in the blazer is in great shape. Absolutely positive that there's nothing wrong with it. Would I really have to switch the TQ Converters also? Cant I just reuse to TQ Conv. in the Blazer with the trans out of the 98 jimmy? They're practically the same truck. They got to be the same right? Help me with this guys.

I know buddy :)
Another question. Where can I find a bolt kit for the trans. I missing 3 bolts to where the trans mounts to the engine/oil pan. I also need a tranny dip stick. I guess I could check with the dealership. I was wondering if there was an alternative. Any body have some laying around? Stu, Jay? Any one else?

I'd assume they are the same, but Scotty, remember how you don't want to do this job again? I wouldn't mess with leaving the converters with the engine. I'd keep the converter with the tranny it came from, just to be on the safe side. The stealership should have the bolts you need.

Both converters are the same. IMO leave the converter with the tranny it came from just for fluid contamination purposes.
Dipstick from the dealer. Shouldnt be real expensive. Just the stick or the tube also?
Go to Lowes for the replacement bolts. They stock Grade 5 and Grade 8 ones. Just take the old one and match it up. I did that on my TA and it worked well. I have a couple of my old 1986 Tranny to Engine bolts somewhere. My issue was there was 1 missing, and 2 others had already been replaced with some non-OEM ones. They all looked like hell so I replaced them all.

I guess I'll just keep the TQ conv. with the same trans. Thx.
I'll stop being lazy and just go to the the hardware store for the bolts.
It's the tube only. The actuall dip stick is fine. I really wasnt very clear on that huh?
I just found out who the previous owner got to change the front trans seal. He told me he just got some guy that was hanging out in front of the auto parts store! He got a fukin crack head to do it! LOL, MFer!

Tube from dealer or get one in the junkyard....get a new seal too.....be sure to drain the fluid
