I found a 5 speed from an '85 s-10 that I can pick up for $75. Would it fit my '96?

does the 85 have a hydro slave cylinder?

No.

85 would have either a 2.5 or 2.8 both of which have the 60° bell housing. If you have a 4.3 that takes a 90° bolt pattern.Not sure what the 2.2 takes but I think specific to that engine.
